Poll Ahhhhhhh! Help me pick out a horror game to finish! (54 votes)

Alien Isolation 59%
Outlast 20%
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs 20%

The latter two I got during a Steam sale last year, but never got around to finishing. I always was tempted to play Outlast, but was too chicken, but now with my Halloween spirit up, I guess I could try it. As for Amnesia, I started playing it, was interested, but ADHD set in and I stopped playing it for other games. I liked the whole Industrial Age theme going on.

I picked up Alien Isolation too, forgetting the fact that I have two other horror games to finish. Game over man! Come on, the food is not that bad....Yeah yeah.

They seem to offer 3 different horror experiences. Why not vote and explain your preference in the comments?

I've only played the beginning of Alien: Isolation, and I'm enjoying it overall. Outlast is genuinely great. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs isn't a bad game, but it's fairly weak compared to the first Amnesia.

So, go with Alien: Isolation - you presumably spent a relatively large amount of money on the game, so you should at least play it now. After that, play Outlast. Then finish off Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs at some other point.

Alien is the new hotness, might as well play it while it's new and the discussion around it is poppin'.

One month from now outlast and Amnesia are still going to be not new.

Jump into Alien since it's new. You might as well take advantage of the zeitgeist. The other two are older anyway, and it's not like they're going anywhere. My guess is that if you were going to play them, you probably would have already. But, if you ever do really get that urge, they'll still be there.

Out is your "budget" option...Alien is your more expensive option...I wouldn't even recommend A Machine For Pigs, honestly. The first Amnesia, for sure, but not A Machine For Pigs.

Outlast is tropesville. The mechanics are decent but you can practically set your watch to the jump scares. Go for Alien.

Since it's a problem of motivation to finish games, I'd say play Alien. It's probably the best one and it's brand new. If you were definitely going to play all 3 games no matter what, I'd say maybe save Alien for last then, because if it is the best game of the 3, you wouldn't want to start with that and then get disappointed by the others.

I dunno. I'm too OCD about this kinda stuff. I could also argue that you should play Alien, because if you didn't feel the motivation to finish the others, then don't fight it. You'll just push yourself to finish a game you aren't into, and that's usually not very enjoyable.
