I like anime. However, the big problem with it is that it can spend 10-20 episodes building character development before moving the plot forward. Everything I've read about anime & JRPGs is that "It's slow to get started, but eventually hooks you in." This is true. I bet it's the same with Manga. They're always following that same formula.
