Best thing to do in Fallout 3
I just got the Fallout 3 Game of the year edition today.... i have played the game before but not that much...i was wondering whats the best thing to do right away once you get out of the vault...also how much does your barter skill actaully effect the prices of things
Yea i will deactivate the nuke but then ya all of the sudden got the whole game ahead n now i got the 5 DLC's idk where i should really start..for it to be the most beneficial.
When you get to level 20, get the Explorer perk - it's kind of waste of a perk, but it will reveal ALL locations on the map to your Pip-Boy, which means you won't have to endlessly wander around looking for cool places. You will still have to walk there, but at least you'll know where you're walking :P My favorite parts of the game was just finding out new places.
My favorite place? The dunwich building. My favorite moment? Go to radio signal Oscar Zulu to find out. If you want to find out what's there really badly, go to the Fallout Wiki, The Vault, and type in Signal Oscar Zulu. Fucking sad.
Kill everyone and then realize you fucked up and restart the game.
Everyone has done it, don't deny it.

Ah, dunwich, i stayed away from that place for good reason.
" Kill everyone and then realize you fucked up and restart the game. Everyone has done it, don't deny it. "No, that would be just you.
I would say using your speech skill to negotiate a deal with the pseudo-vampires. Why? Well, how many games let you simply sort out your differences with vampires by just talking to them?
Don't put any points into barter it's a waste. Apart from that I say do a few main story missions until you're fairly well stocked up with bullets and health items and then just go off and explore. Some people make the mistake of exploring strait away the second you leave the vault and then find themselves having gone too deep into somewhere with no ammo for their pistol, no health and no way back to Megaton and have to sneak everywhere just to avoid getting detected by a bandit or whatever, I know I've done that before and ended up reseting from a save just before I left the vault.
Go to Megaton first to get your bearings. You'll find a number of quests, shops, etc. You'll also be able to get started on the Power of the Atom quest, which will net you a house to stay in when you complete it. Having your own place to drop off gear and get some sleep is very handy.
Agreed that Barter is a total waste. You'll be picking up so much loot that you can make a boatload of caps. I find that Small Guns, Sneak, Lockpick, Medicine, and Science are good skills to increase early. Eventually you'll move on to Big Guns, Energy Weapons, Explosives, etc.
Why do you need someone to tell you what to do? The brilliant part of the game is going out there & discovering everything. Doing the game on your own leaves an incredible impression. It feels like you are really there.
Here are some things to do. If you have any missions where you have to escort somebody from point A to point B, don't use the Pip Boy to fast forward & get there, but actually WALK with them through the map from A to B! It can take several hours & a few save reloads to make it, but it's an incredible challenge, not frustrating either, but interesting.
If you just want to roam around mindlessly, I'd suggest being evil, doing all the evil missions & kill everyone. The Sandman perk is nifty too. After you've solved everything you can in a town, no more missions are available, Enter Sandman! When I'm done with the game as evil, I plan on killing everyone on the map. You should do the same. :-)
You can do whatevet the hell you want in whatever fucking order you want :P
Just do whatever is closer to you :D
Exploring and finding places on the map is what I enjoy the most about Bethesda games. Just traversing the wasteland was far more enjoyable than any of the quests.
" Kill everyone and then realize you fucked up and restart the game. Everyone has done it, don't deny it. "I kept playing.
"Hehe, you're mean.Best thing to do in fallout 3:
Go to jury-street metro station, look around for traintracks and overturned train carts (some muties are there, it's south/southwest of the map marker), on those tracks you'll find shopping carts, one of them has a teddybear, get that teddybear!

" Saving slaves is fun "Did that last night. Walked into Paradise Falls and shot some lead. I came out on top.
First I used the console to give myself free achievements, then I gave myself the experimental mirv with unlimited ammo, then I spawned a hundred dogs and after I finished there were dog parts raining everywhere, and I found bits and pieces stuck to walls. Other than that I have no interest in the game, it's so bland, brown, and slow.
Well it would probably be beneficial to do operation anchorage, you'd get power armor and good weapons right off the bat.
Ok so whats the best thing to put money towards? Seeing as u can collect just about everything by exploring....

How is the end of the world supposed to be colorful & easy on the eyes?? What were you expecting a rainbow of colors everywhere? Go back to Oblivion you cretin.
" @DOUBLESHOCK said:I know that's what I expected, and that's why I never tried to seriously play it. I just gifted it to my friend on Steam when it was for $20, that's the only reason I have played it myself. He really enjoys it for some reason, I think because he likes clicking on people's heads in VATS." " @Lind_L_Taylor said:$20? That's a deal...alas, I checked the price & it's still $50 on fucking Steam." @DOUBLESHOCK said:I know that's what I expected, and that's why I never tried to seriously play it.
