So, as it's January, I decided I wouldn't buy any new games until March (which is when video games come back anyways) but now I'm torn on what to buy. I'm definately getting back on DS train, but should I get Bloodbourne or DS 2? Souls fans, how was DS 2? I liked the first one, even though I sucked at it, and BB looks like exactly what I wanted from the series (slightly more focused but retaining the atmosphere) but it's impossible to know for sure. Thoughts?

Bloodborne definitely. Dark Souls 2 has already been 'solved', there's no mystery to it anymore.

However, Dark Souls 2 is out right now and is pretty cheap.

DS2 is lesser DS1. It's still a really good game, and if you want more Dark Souls then it suits that need, but I'd wait for Bloodborne if you're restricting yourself to only buying one of the two games.

Honestly, what I've seen of BB has really done nothing for me. I feel like I'm more likely to pick up that port of DS2 for PS4 before BB.

But that's just me. Lots of people seem super stoked for BB, and if BB "looks like exactly what you want from the series" then it would probably be a sensible investment. And all things fair, these games are really at their peak near launch. Once everyone has figured everything out and everyone knows all the best ways to murder you in PvP some of the appeal is gone.

BB comes out a couple weeks before DkS2: Scholar. Weird to compete with yourself that way, they must be hoping for BB hype to move DkS2 copies on X1 and PC. Anyway, the one true dao is BOTH, but priorities man:
