Hello Friends !

Our GiantBomb PC Gaming Hub group played Arma 2 Combined Operations on Monday and shot a video.

We were a 10 man squad sent into an enemy occupied town named "Gorka". Our mission was to sweep the town clean of enemies and to find and destroy their weapon storage.

Insertion was via UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, we were 8 men on foot backed up by 2 MH-6 Little Bird choppers. All GiantBomb players survived this mission, some got severely burned.

Featuring as the confused MH-6 Little Bird chopper pilot.

We play Arma 2 Combined Operations every Friday.

It's not very nice to set fire to your buddies, that's not how you show team spirit!

Last mission of the night and the AI screwing us over was the straw that broke the back of the war scarred veteran member of the Bomb Squad. He pulled the pin of the incendiary grenade and dropped it at his feet. And then he ran away laughing. Some say he's still out there killing russians for us right now.

@Hero_Swe: Do you always talk about yourself in the third person?

Also, I wasn't "confused". I was merely making sure we weren't followed. Yeah... that's it.

Do we have a mod list we should be telling people about? Last thing we want is wrangling mods last second

Liber, the English speaking world is disgusted by your space between friends and exclamation mark.

I'm still gutted Alex didn't play it with NV's on. Watching the laser sights on the guns bob about as people were sprinting was awesome.

Night fire fights still look good though with tracers and shit without NVG's.

Pretty is the wrong word. But bright shiny things are always entertaining.

Poorly, and without any indication where the best place to get them would be. It'd be good to have a forum thread that listed mods, descriptions, and most importantly download links for them. There are already a shit ton of addons you need, just listing abbreviations of the addons is going to be pretty impenetrable for folks who aren't familiar with modding ArmA.

As long as we're shoving more videos in here, how about a 74 minute one from this friday.

And yeah, more info about how to get the mods going is not a bad idea. Sixupdater is a good thing to get to get started, it makes mod handling quite pleasant.

Oh and that's totally not playing during working hours, not at all.

The abbreviations are the names of the mods though. ACE is ACE, ACRE is ACRE. Though you're right, we should have said Six Updater is needed for that stuff. We're working on some stuff now.

@AlexW00d: sort of, but stuff like "ACE_X" or ACE RU isn't super clear, and most mod sites for arms I've used list the extra ACE stuff as things like "ACE Russian Units" or what have you.

Names are good just so people have some idea what the mod is and a description would be even better. Especially for game overhauls like ACE. If someone gets all the mods without looking at em they might be a bit lost as to how the new stuff works. ArmA already does a poor enough job getting players into the swing of things.

The main reason I brought all of this up is I have a couple hesitant friends I want to get involved but it would be nice not to have to do all of the explaining on what to get how it works, etc :p
