After listening to a recent Bombcast in which the crew debates what genre Punch-Out is, and hearing the email describing it as a souls-like game, I started thinking about ridiculous game-to-genre claims people could make. My personal best is that Solitaire is technically a rogue-like. Using the "Berlin interpretation," most games of solitaire are randomly generated, feature permadeath, are turn-based, play on a grid (using a loose definition of the term grid), are "non-modal," allow several solutions to win, and require management of limited resources.

What about y'all? Are there any ridiculous ways you can think of to justify a certain game as a certain genre?
