Screened.com has the "Defend your movie" feature, where they talk some minutes about a movie which (according to them) has an unjustified review score or that it deserves more remark.
Wouldnt this be a good feature for GiantBomb? There is a lack of "retro" features (Im not counting TANG as that is more film content then videogame). So a Defend Your Game Video feature i think would be a great addition. Maybe with some Retro Quick Looks too? New videogames are great, but there is thousands of classics. What do you guys think? :)
"Defend Your Game" - New Video feature at GB?
I like the idea, but if it ever were to happen, it certainly won't be for a while. They are going to have their hands full the the onlsaught of fall releases as well as what will probably be a stacked Q1 of next year. Certainly it would be a good content filler for the slower summer months of next year.
Would it be defending a game that got a bad review by another GB staff member (that would be cool, but might not happen that often)? Or defending a game that got reviewed poorly by some defined "consensus" (like Metacritic, which I can't see them doing, and a normal review would serve this purpose)?
The former might work better on a bigger site that reviewed more games and had more staff available to disagree and defend. I'm sure GB staff disagree on reviews, but I doubt there are that many times someone gives a game a 1-3 star review and someone else feels strongly enough to "defend" it. Not bashing the idea, since I think it's a good one - just wondering how the implementation would work.
I like the "retro quick looks" idea better. They did some of those for the 10 year anniversary of the Dreamcast, they were awesome.
EDIT: Here they are.
I don't think so. That is a good feature for Screened, but I can't really see it on Giant Bomb since it is much harder to defend a shit game than a "shit" movie.
I'd watch it.

"I loved Too Human and by all regards it was shit. It was still playable and I could think of ways to defend it. I'd love to see the staffers do the same with their favorites.
