Do you abuse saves in RPG's?

I'm cleaning up "reach level X with X karma alignment" achievements in Fallout 3 before I dive headfirst into the DLC. So do you guys abuse saves to experience parts of the game over again, or get achievements, or get a special item?

I did in Fallout 3 to get the Karma achievements, but that was the only time.

Yeah those Fallout 3 achievements are annoying. Playing through the game 3 times is kind of ridiculous for achievement standards these days. And the Neutral one can be highly annoying trying to balance it for the whole game.

The only save that I abused was in Fable 2.  I went nuts and wiped out an entire village to get the achievement for being extremely bad.

I feel that making achievements like that are punishing a player for playing how he wants to play.  Rather than be gipped out of some achievements I did decide to "abuse" saves.

I'm usually way too lenient with them. I often forget I can manually save.

i have like a thousand save files in fallout 3, but when it comes to making decisions that affect how your quest and its rewards turn out, i just go with one path and stick to it, even though i wont see everything that could possibly happen, it would ruin the whole point of making a decision otherwise. but for achievements..no reason to not abuse saves there, im not doin 3 playthroughs just for some achievements XP

The only time I do it is if I accidentally screw up an important option such as choosing a choice I didn't want to choose on accident in a ME2 conversation that has to do with the story.

Yup, I abuse saves in games if it will increase my Gamerscore. Otherwise, no need. I'd rather play and see what consequences my actions have, unless I kill some people. Then I load. If there's an achievement, then I load and fulfill the criteria.

Always, in all rpgs, I don't go quite as far as saving to a new slot every time but I tend to finish rpgs with about 6 different saves.

I abuse save files to get different endings, sure. I don't exploit for extra karma/light/paragon points though, or to get unlimited money. Those things break the game.

I save a lot. But I don't go back in a save to "get an achievement" or something so I don't think I am abusing saves so to speak. In my opinion that would just ruin the experience of the game to do so. Though I can totally understand why one would do it, especially if you were not planning on playing it twice.

Yes.  Constantly.  Especially in god damned Bioware games.  I'm not playing through your 80-hour bore fest four fucking times to get chieves for seeing all four endings when I can just replay the last hour four times.

I did too for the karma chieves in Fallout 3, but I ended up playing that game more than three times for hundreds of hours anyways.

I don't think I've ever done it before except to earn an achievement or two in Fable II. I'm thinking of doing it to get some of the achievements in Dragon Age: Origins though.

I could give a flying fig over achievements.  When they pop up, I'm happy but not since Crackdown in 2007 have I ever pursued any achievement or trophy.  I do however keep a rotation of 3 to 5 saves that I am constantly overwriting so I never have to restart too far back or if I run into a glitch of some sort.  Most recently, I had one in Mass Effect 2 which required a restart.  Over the course of a game I rack up a really high number of saves, but only three-to-five spots are actually filled on the hard drive.  Playing an RPG with just the auto-save is asking for trouble in my opinion.
