so i was just sitting looking at my consoles and asked myself what would i be doing if i didnt have this sad life of video games. have you ever thought of an alternate universe where you didnt play video games
I stopped gaming recently, mainly cause I was catching up on old Lost episodes. Been about a week. Don't miss it much, mainly cause Heroes of Newerth gaming till 4 am will probably lead to me getting fired.
@HypoXenophobia: The season 6 premiere was mind-blowing! Anyway, I barely have time to play video games when I am in school. I go to school, I do homework, I go to work, and in my free time I try to read and do some writing, which I really enjoy.
I'd be like my friends going out to clubs like some California jersey shore laming it up trying to get the sex (and succeeding of course).Then I would meet a stripper in an expensive San Fran club and marry her after I bought her a new car. We would last a month and she would take me for everything I have. Then I would be offered drugs at a run down bar and get hooked on the hard stuff. A year later I would be found dead in a grape field next to a meth lab. (yay Madera being #1 in meth labs and teen pregnancies at least it was in 04).
Nope. I sometimes consider what my life would be like if I had no school and more time to play videogames and do martial arts. I would be much happier.
i like my life the way it is. i can't even imagine being some fucking meat-head jock that's all about beer pong, sports, broing out, and vacuous bitches.
Video games are one of the only things that stop me from packing up all my belongings and following a Phish Tour.
so i guess if video games didn't exist i would be a dirty lot-rat hippy selling grilled cheese and home-made t-shirts in order to move on to the next venue.
Well.. I'd spend more time with other addictions of mine :) Like soccer, music, drawing, books etc.. Heck, I could have turned into a very productive person in that universe!
It would be about the same, i would just have some other hobby. I would probably would be a little less intelligent given how much video games have trained my mind.
In this alternate universe, I would be in a half-pipe shreddin' it up and laying down some sick movez! All after 3:00 AM, cause in this alternate universe, I don't sleep and get tons of fist-bumps without a hint of irony.
I have other nerdy hobbies such as movies, books, editing, animation, so I would and could focus on that. In fact I once stopped playing games a lot for maybe a year or so, and that's what happened. So I'm good.
We all die anyway, and there really is no purpose to life... so if I want to quench my thirst for video games, then hell yeah I will. And playing games is harmless unless that's the only thing you do.
I don't think about it becuase I know what I love. I love my gamer girlfriend, I love my workout regimen and I love my games. :-) What's wrong with that?
@Bones8677: Shouldn't the alternate universe have the evil goatee and actually be evil by being a lot nicer than us? Like benders alternate version of himself, from Futurama. Lol.

Yeah, same here, except I assume my alternate universe self has a gun along with being a douche.
Oh edit: Dear OP, for serious this is something that crosses my mind every now and then. I know people that just sit around and watch tv all day or "hang out" with their friends half a day and wonder what the fun is in that. As someone who has done both of those in the past I much rather enjoy just playing games all day.
That depends... are we talking bout alternative universe without video games at all or just one where i never discovered the joy of playing them? I have answers eithery way. Without games: Cant really imagine it xD Without discovering: I would most likely read a lot more then i do now and i would have less friends since most my friends became my friends since we have similar game tastes lol.
