No, I don't enjoy reading the reviews. I think it's a little telling when they have a high-scoring review for a game on one page coupled with an add for the game on the next page.
My dad came home with an Edge card after taking my brothers and cousin to Gamestop. I was happy for the free magazine but the card was totally useless because I abstain from any used-game related aspects of Gamestop's business. Now it's expired and I don't really care.
Yes I originally got it because I bought an edge card. Now I just keep getting it. As I said in the other thread about gaming magazines, I think Game Informer is shit in every respect aside from the occasional editorial or interview. For instance I thoroughly enjoyed reading the interviews with Ralph Baer and Alexey Pajitnov.
I used to have a subscription to game informer with the edge card when I was going to school. Then I didn't have alot of money for games so I relied on used games and trade-ins as method of obtaining new stuff to play. Now I have a decent job so I really don't buy used games or make trade-ins anymore so the need for the edge card is practically gone, so no card, no game informer either.
