Does anyone still cheat in single player games?

I never really understood the idea of doing this. Aren't you just cheating yourself when you do this? If you cheat, explain to me why.

I cheat but only in GTA  just because once i finish the game it gives me the freedom to do whatever i want

The last time I used a cheat was when me and my friend were playing Contra. We used the 30 lives cheat and still freaking died on the last level.

Cheating in single player is lame. Its much more fun actually playing the game without having god mode on. It is fun to use some cheats that do cool things though, like I remember in Age of Empires you can use cheats to get space troopers with laser guns or a car with a rocket launcher.

I cheat all the time in GTA IV. It just adds instant gratification to things. Sometimes I'd rather not drive all the way from the west end to the airport just to steal a helicopter with guns on it and fly all the way back to the west end to blow shit up there.. It's more fun to just spawn a chopper where you are, and then do whatever else fits your whims at that moment.

If I've completed a game I'll cheat, but there's no way I would cheat on a game I haven't completed. It just takes the fun out of it and ruins the entire experience.

I know cheating isn't needed but its contra. I mean come on its like almost impossible lol.

The only single player game that I've cheated in was GTA: SA. It was so hard sometimes, especially because it was my first GTA game.

Nope. It completely takes the fun out of the game. But mods...now that is a different story.

only games i ever cheated in was GTA cause they were hard haha. although GTA IV was playable without cheats :)

Cheating is fun in some games, at least when you finish the game. Then you can go back  (I'm thinking sandbox style games) and do things just to have fun. If anything Cheating can give you some extra hours of just doing stupid stuff, finding odd bugs or easter eggs. 

if i beat the game and see a cheat that looks like fun i'll use it. i don't use cheats to beat games though

All the time, but it seems like more and more games today just are not using them for some reason, like there is not even an option...maybe its with achievements and everything.

Personally, I prolly played GTAIII for an extra 10 hours with just messing around with cheats and goof around.

Only in GTA. Some of the missions are way too hard, and I don't feel like starting over again from the bloody beginning every time I screw up.

I do, after I beat the game though, just for some fun. :P

Basically in the same boat as everyone else. Cheat codes add replayability, but I think I would regret it if I was playing a game through for the first time and used such codes, because then I'd be missing out on the whole experience.

Only in GTA games.

I play games for the true experience, so cheats never really help me to achieve that.

I only cheated in GTA San Andreas, but I unwillingly cheated in Saints Row and screwed up my achievements...

GTA is more fun with cheats than without. But most other games I'll at least beat the game before I start cheating.

I cheat a few times, when I get bored.
