I have been using Shopto.net since the start of the year and began to prefer them over Amazon.co.uk which was my site for games. The membership thing on Shopto.net was also an incentive for buying games there. For those who don't know, Shopto.net has a three tier system for people using the site. A reward scheme: Bronze, Silver, Gold. The more you buy the higher the level you become and the better the rewards. To become a Gold member you must buy 30 games in a 12 month period. The higher the level you are the better the saving you get on further purchases and any points you accumulate is there for you to spend at a later date. Great.
I don't bring this up in the effort of asking people to shop there but I am wondering if what I am about to share has happened to anyone else that uses them.
As I said at the top, I have been using Shopto since January and had not had any problems until last week.
I ordered 2 games that would take me up to the 30 games or purchases needed to become a Gold member. One of the games arrived on time - the next day, and the other game had a status of 'Processing' which I noticed a day or two later when I logged in to see why part of my order never arrived.
I logged in using the same email address and password I have used since signing up and then opened a ticket (for customer support) using the contact options in my account. I left them a message asking if they could tell me why the other game had not been sent as it was shown IN STOCK. I got no reply.
A day later the game turned up and I thought nothing more of it at the time.
Now I don't know if they read my message and sent it but that is not the real issue. The real issue is that I cannot log into my account. I have attempted to log in many times and I get "This email is not registered on our website". Its very strange as I logged in a day earlier and was able to send my enquiry through the site using that email address.
I sent an email tonight to their shoptosupport email address (via Hotmail) and got the same reply about my email not being linked to the site and that I could sign up if I don't have an account. I now wish I had kept my order conformation email for my last order but I usually delete old emails and deleted that one just before I found this problem.
I can't be sure but I am starting to think they have reset my account. I am now able to sign up with the same address and enter the same card details (*it doesn't let you add a card that is linked to the same home address - because me and my brother both tried to sign up and it wouldn't allow 2 cards from the same house even though it was different people and different accounts). It's like my info has been wiped. My progress to be a gold member would have had me getting the best savings available and now It looks like I would have to start again if I want to use the site.
I don't think I will continue to use it and might just revert back to Amazon who don't offer the membership saving scheme. I had planned to order many of the games and possibly both new consoles but I will go elsewhere because of this.
