Does who is driving a a quicklook determine if you watch it?

I'm curious what the community thinks. Does who is driving a quicklook determine if you watch the game footage or not?

I've recently come to the conclusion that there are certain pairings that I just avoid no matter how interested I am in the game. And, consequently, there are other parings that I will watch no matter the game. In fact, if I haven't heard of it, the better.

Yes. I usually stay away from quick looks with Ryan or Patrick in them unless Vinny is there to make it interesting.

If Vinny is in it, then I am watching it asap

I watch them all BUT I can turn it of if it's A) Not enjoyable or interesting on some level B) because of the games nature

Nope, I watch them all, you never know when the funny will happen, or what it will come from.

Vinny and Brad will usually make me watch any quicklook no matter how bad the game looks. I tend to skip the ones involving Patrick for the most part.

Yup, same here. I at least start almost every QL, but if it gets dull I don't finish it. I have not found any correlation between who is doing the QL and whether or not it's good, but if Vinny is involved it's usually a guaranteed good time.

yep. i'll even skip Vinny ones if the game is really boring (just like I skip all the flight sim ones unfortunately)

The chance of random Jack-assery is what makes all of Giant Bomb great. ( But every thing is better with Vinny )

I watch all of them. The pilot just determines if I will like it more or less (most of the time). Quick Looks with Vinny\Drew\Dave or with Jeff in the driving seat are my favorite ones.

I'll watch a quick look if it is a dumb thing or unusual game (Train Simulator, Cargo!), if it's an indie game (Hotline Miami, Frozen Synapse) or if it's a game that I genuinely have interest in (LA Noire, NFS Most Wanted). Whom ever is in the quick look doesn't matter to me. It's about the games. How interesting or entertaining the quick look is going to be is determined by the game.

I pretty much only walk anything with Vinny in it now.

Nope, the game does. 

I watch them all regardless, however, if it's a Quick Look EX and the developer/producer guy they have in to talk about it is just spewing PR stuff and not actually having fun, I tend to turn them off. But if it's just a regular Quick Look, I'll watch any game. And sometimes it's the games I'm least interested in (sports) that make the best QLs.

People hate Ryan? That's news to me. I never knew that...

I watched a quicklook based on the game not on who's sitting in.

Yup. It has to be a person. As soon as robots start driving my Quick Looks, I WILL NOT PARTAKE!

Yeah, where did this come from? Ryan is amazing.

The game being QL'd is what decides it for me more often then who is in the QL.

I watch all Quick Looks although sometimes I just leave them playing in the background if it isn't particularly interesting. If there are multiple in one day who is in them determines what order I watch them in. Anything with Dave, Drew, Jeff, and/or Vinny gets top priority.

Vinny plus another non-Patrick crew member if I'm watching strictly to be entertained. Any combo of Jeff, Ryan and Brad if I'm interested in the game.

I watch them all, but a lot of them I put on a secondary monitor while I work or while I play other games, especially if it's a game I'm not particularly interested in.

I'm watching all of them, because I have nothing better to do with my time. TV is boring compared to these guys.

Brad + Jeff is the worst, cus all they do is hate on everything .

Every one of the guys has some people that hate them. With the exception of Vinny and maybe Dave and Drew.

For me the person doing the QL doesn't matter. I start watching every QL and if its not keeping my interest, I'll leave it on in the background while I browse the forums or check twitter.

If I'm remotely interested in the game, I'll watch bits and pieces of the QL. It doesn't matter to me who's driving. However, I very rarely watch an entire vid unless something crazy is going on, like the Capcom guys and the GB guys drinking until Brad passes out.

I'll start watching all of them, but there's no guarantee I'll actually pay full attention. Cue rant about the umpteenth First / Third Person Shooter, etc.

As for Patrick: Jesus, him and Vinny is a combination made in hell. Vinny is more than happy to troll and Patrick seems to love feeding him. IT'S GLORIOUS.

For most of the year I avoided all Patrick Quick Looks. But I got over it a few months ago, and am back to just watching all the Quick Looks.

So nope, it doesn't matter to me who's driving the Quick Look. Like some others said above, though, if Vinny is in it, I'll hop right to that Quick Look first, definitely.

No staff member actively drives me away, but some staff members will make me want to watch it.

I didn't realize how much I hated that until you just wrote it. I noticed it, and it bothered me, but it was subconcious until you articulated it.

I love watching all the quicklooks but the ones with Brad are the most unwatchable. I love anything with Vinny, Jeff, Drew and Dave.

I don't watch regular TV, instead I have XBMC on the big TV and to answer your question in two ways....Firstly I watch everything Giant Bomb produces, including all QLs, usually in the evening while having dinner or chilling out :D

Secondly, I feel that certain genres are better represented by certain peeps on the GB team, "work to your strengths" and all that, so I'm glad to see a variety of the team on different things!

That said.....if Vinny's in a Quick Look, I'm sure to enjoy it way more :P

Nope, I'll watch it anyways. If it's boring (which I think mostly depends on the game) I'll turn it off and do something else, cause you can do that.

I would watch a robot....

I watch em all. Only one I've turned off was the QL:EX of Blood Knights.

That's exactly how I feel. Someone should inject Brad with a dose of fun right before they record the quick looks. Also, he seems to disregard a lot of info/objectives/tutorials the game is giving to him, so he tries to analytically solve the problems using his brain instead.. and that usually doesn't work very well..

I have watched every single one. And will continue to do so.

I guess I kind of avoid Patrick ones, but that's usually because he's looking at some of the weirder Indie games that i don't have much interest in.

Nope, it's the game that determines that and that's the way it should be.

Brad and Jeff is the best for that reason. Anyway, the Dust QL is among the most positive QLs this year and it was done by Brad/Jeff and Jeff even tried to be a devil's advocate for RE6.

As great as Vinny is, he has a tendency to be unduly nice about bad games. Patrick used to do this but I feel he's gained an edge over time and stops trying to be balanced in QLs now. Which is good. Who needs balance?

Really doesn't make a difference who's on the QL to me, always worth watching.

My problem with Patrick is that I play games to have fun and he seems to play games to analyze games. Whether it's fun or not seems irrelevant to him. He's the Mr. Spock to Jeffs "I just want to know if a game is fun or not" Captian Kirk approach.

Patrick did good in the Hotline Miami video, though, I think just because of how amped Ryan was about the game. He stopped analyzing it and just had fun playing.

I find those quicklooks much more watchable.

I love the entire crew. Vinny status though will keep me watching a bad quicklook.

I watch based on the game only, though I might skip more/less of a video depending upon how funny the team is.

No one actively drives me away from a QL, but unfortunately Patrick and Ryan alone usually bring out the worst in eachother. Unless there's a third man to push them along they spend way too much time with either Ryan futzing around in menus or Patrick talking about systems or talking about facts that are simply wrong. They need a Jeff/Vinny/Brad to act as their wrangler. Jeff especially is very good at telling them to get on with it.

Also they really need to have Drew chime in more often from the control room whenever they're stuck on something too long.
