Does anyone know how to turn off double-spacing in these here forums?
See...^
This is annoying.
I think if you hold sift and press enter it won't skip a line?
About to hold shift and enter and see what happens :)
Testing! I think it worked??
EDIT: Yes it works but then got weird when I edited....
Yes, holding shift + enter will make it start
on the next line under
instead of going down two spaces.
When you edit a post it will revert everything to doubled spaces even after you've set them to be otherwise, so be warned. I've had entire posts messed up (at least messed up in the sense of how I wanted them to be viewed) because of this. Not really an issue though, just be mindful.
It all looks the same on mobile though.
Shift+Enter, though if you edit a post, you'll have to redo them all
Yes, holding shift + enter will make it start
After ten years this was all it took.
Thank you.
Nice catch!
Up-sized spacing can be a drag, I never knew the Shift+Enter trick.
Thanks again, friend.
Salutations!
Omg, I didn't know about shift spacing, either.
Nor did I know about it in word!
Bless this thread.
HOLY
SHIT.
Mind blown.
Didn't know you could single space.
Thank YOU!
EDIT: ALERT! ALERT! When you edit your message it seems to undo all your nice, beautiful, single-spacing though :(
EDIT 2: *Ahem* Did I just go back and re-edit my message again just to make it single spaced again? Damn straight.

Fucking what?
After 8 years using these forums I didn't know you could do this.
Really nice to know.
This will make leaving secret messages in my posts a lot easier.
When MS Word switched to the 'desktop publishing norm' of Shift+Enter it confused a lot of users at our library. They get used to it, I suppose in the same way that old folks eventually understand that text wraps on a computer; there is no carriage return needed.
I have seen more single-spacing in this thread than I have over the last 10 years of browsing these forums.
