I threw together a userscript that enables HTML5 video on all Whiskey Media sites.

To get it working just open this url in a browser that supports both userscripts and html5 video with h264 as a codec (as of now Chrome, possibly Safari with userscripts plugin).
URL: http://giantbomb.mape.me/giantbomb.user.js

You will get prompted to install it, click "Continue" and you should be set. All videos in the video section should now be using HTML5 video which has a lot better performance then using the flash player.

An extra button is added underneath the video called "Toggle fullscreen".  This resizes the video to fit the browser window, to go full fullscreen you will have to fullscreen the actual browser. The reason it works this way is because HTML5 fullscreen support isn't fully baked yet. To exit the fullscreened video just double-click on the video and you should be back to normal.

This works in both windows and OSX.

It should also be stated that this is in no way sanctioned or supported by the Whiskey Media crew so if you encounter issues  you should use this thread for support or disable it and go back to the standard mode. Preferably this solution will become obsolete soon as the sites add native support for HTML5 video.

Just go to Window -> Extensions and click "uninstall" on  GiantBomb Enhancer.

Nice work, now all we need is Chrome Unstable in Linux to properly select FFMPEG and VDPAU/VA-API. :)
