Agreed. Forums signatures would make an awesome addition to Giant Bomb. Still, these are early days... I'm sure they'll get round to implementing them soon enough :D Great work thus far guys!

Or turn off ones over a certain length and/or have images. It can be somewhat obnoxious when someone's signature is ten times longer than anything they will ever post.
edit: Actually, I think CrimsonSnake is right. People can just put that stuff in their mini bio and let people check it out at their discretion.

Ok I take that back; how about they have a button on the bottom of everyones post, centered, called "Signature", pressing it just reveals you sig, like a hide/spoiler tag of sorts. That would be cool, non intrusive and still existent, eh?
Seriously, what is the point in a signature, ffs. I don't want to have to read or see your crappy signature after every post you do. Your name and icon is more than enough to recognize who is posting what.

And if they're your friend then you see it automatically?
Look at the current layout. See how clean it is and how easy it is to read everyones posts?
Now close your eyes and imagine the same layout with a load of really brightly coloured images of no real purpose, quotes from people we don't even care to hear about and 46 lines about how awesome peoples' PC's are.

In my opinion the avatars are plenty enough to identify a user at a brief glimpse (I'm already learning who a few of you are just by your avatars). If you want to show off images or system specs, your gallery and your mini-bio is there for that.
Not yet. Remember we are still in the beta. A lot of people are wanting them though. But the staff is probably thinking about this a lot too. I mean look how clean each thread is, without sigs its not cluttered and there aren't brightly colored images with no real purpose. On the other hand, sigs help define people, if 2 people have the same name or avy, or at least close names, then a sig can help distinguish them from the others.
I like the idea of an on / off button for sigs. Also, if they are instituted, I'd like to see a fixed dimension for all sigs. If it's possible, a function that enables a sig for the first post on a page view. Something to avoid the same sig showing up on a page ten times when folks are replying.
As I've stated before, I'm all for signatures being added to the forums, however, only if they add a button in your preferences that allows you to disable sigs. That means that it's fair for both the people who want them, and others who don't, instead of one group getting what they want.
