Friend in dire need of assistance

So my friend and I were discussing our childhood games. I was talking about Blasto and Sonic the Hedgehog 1 while he was talking about some game he can not remember. I want to help him find this game so he can buy it on Ebay. Can you guys help us out? Here is the following things he remembers about this game.

• It was a 3D Fighting game
• There is a character that says "right here, right now"
• There is a character who had a lance
• There is a arena level with a pool of lava on the side
• There is a level with a city in the background, and the fighters were on a roof.
• It might have been on the Playstation 1.
