exactly, swearing is fine, but not for the sake of just swearing because you can. I like to swaer along with everyone else but there is a way to swear.

If i would call you names maybe, but i just want to call Mirror´s Edge a fucking prophecy that could turn into a hell of a game. It is the spice of life really. A comprehensive form of appreciation. English is obvioulsy not my primary language. But to quote the Sexy Beast:

Yeah, I think swearing should be fine. One should judge these based things on intent, not by wording. Once people have gotten the swearing out of their system, it will probably cool down.

Isn't GAF strict about who they let in though? Giant Bomb is open to anyone.
Personally, I don't care for swearing. If you have to swear to get out what you want to say then it usually isn't worth hearing in the first place. I won't go on a crusade to ban it but I'm not gonna care if they do put rules limiting it.
I've got nothing against people swearing on a forum, but I'm worried it'll cause a load of immature 13 year olds to start posting: "Fucking hell I can Fucking swear all I Fucking want on fucking giant fucking bomb fucking fuck fuck fuck"
Like some others are saying... just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. I have no issue with swearing, but just to swear for the sake of it... What's the point?
I've never understood why people take offense to swearing. Even if they are swearing at you, Its not personal, its a universally used word/phrase and people still take offense to it. Its like people taking offense to the finger. Since thats the non-verbal form of swearing at some. I'm supposed to be offended because some guy is showing me his finger, i mean what makes that finger more offensive than the other ones? What makes the gesture offensive at all?

If swearing is abused for the sake of swearing or aimed at someone with the intent of insulting them then I don't think it should be allowed. If swearing is used in the way that swearing is normally used by normal people then I agree that it should be allowed, we're all mature people here right? ...
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't words like "class" or "style" banned on GS? As long as they don't start banning random words like that I will be happy. But honestly I've heard the GB crew swear once in a while during the Bombcast, why shouldn't it be allowed on the forums?

Well, if you guys constantly continue to use swear words, I highly doubt it will be allowed for much longer. Which is a shame, because that is what makes NeoGaf so much fun. As long as we don't swear at each other :D
I'm personally not a fan of swearing online, but I do it all the time in real life. I dunno why, but I just don't like reading the word "fuck" over and over. But as long as it isn't be used to flame someone or something, I guess it's fine. But this better not mean people will stop using "WTF" and instead using the whole phrase. I enjoy "WTF."
