Seeing as precious few people on Earth have actually been up-close with an Xbox One in the flesh, Microsoft has uploaded this 3D model of the console, which you can check out right here.

You can rotate, pan and zoom to your heart's content, getting a way better look at the machine than static press images could ever manage.

I gotta say, in that light, the half-grill pattern on the lid is kinda growing on me...

To get started, click on the little 3D cube in the middle of the image below. Your mouse wheel controls the zoom, while left click + drag rotates the camera.

It doubles as a space for virtual hobos to get a good night's rest.

I bet that someone will be able to accurately estimate the size of the box from the size of those HDMI and USB connectors. It would be nice to know ahead of time if I need to go shopping for a bigger entertainment center.

But, really, I'm sure someone fucked up when modelling it.

Has it been stated if the console can be set vertical as well? both sides have vents but the right side is covered weirdly by just half vent, maybe that's the 'bottom' when vertical? I prolly don't care either way but I sorta dig the option to put it up like that, if possible.

@djjoejoe: I wonder if you can actually run the kinect on its side as well... It probably wont be designed for that most likely

And that looks like a proprietary power connector for an external power brick. Starting to think the factory shot I saw of the back had the central plastic bits removed by mistake making it look like a slot for a regular kind of power cable (like the ones for Sony's consoles).

Is the new Kinect larger than the original?

It's something I've been wondering - The new Kinect doesn't seem very "Kinect-like". The Xbox One design looks rather "luxury sedan" maybe to counteract the Kinect aspect but it seems out of place.

It is neat if the new Kinect doesn't need to move around though, assuming that's true.

I hope this post makes sense to someone.

@beachthunder: Looks like a texture mapping issue. I doubt the actual Kinect would have hundreds of tiny, upside down Xbox and controller button icons on it 0.o
