Noobs.
gamepro claims heavy rain best graphics ever ever
This topic is locked from further discussion.
It certainly has very nice looking faces, from what I've seen of it. And the totally "uninvolved"-kinda gameplay style allows it to maintain a visual fidelity level much closer to those of movies (see Wall-E creator's explanation on why games can't equal movies in poly count due to real-time rendering). So those claims could easily be true, from a technical standpoint.
"http://www.gamepro.com/sony/ps3/games/previews/206760.shtmlwhy would you say noobs? Best graphics I'm guessing they mean as in focus on the characters...not how realistic sports sims can look from really far away while you're watching them play,Fight Night Round 3 was probably the only other game that I can think comes close to having that kind of focus on specifically the human characters and pulling it off well. If you have any other suggestions please list them...but until factually proven wrong, they could be right, if not its just their opinion, and your answer would also be nothing more than an opinion.
Noobs."

Inside a massive sandbox with countless destructible s (including all those tree's you see behind him, which can be shot down). From a technical standpoint, Crysis.

Woah...
"pause422 said:The Heavy Rain pictures still look better, and have a much greater focus on personal and story aspects that allow it to excel in one area graphically. I've played Crysis, on high, and it just looks stupid. It may render some faces well, but killing the same Korean over and over again makes you laugh at the attempt they made at detail. Heavy Rain is all about characters and emotional response. It's obviously going to have better looking people and environments, even if they aren't as large. Being able to render tons of things at once doesn't equal greatness, as Crysis has proven."MIALER_DAEMON said:"http://www.gamepro.com/sony/ps3/games/previews/206760.shtml"It certainly has very nice looking faces, from what I've seen of it. That specific remark I'd say isn't true at all, but they are just describing the faces mainly, I think its one of the best looking games to focus on humans specifically..but yeah in terms of every little thing in a game, visuals on buildings, vehicles, people and terrain/surroundings in a game to date, I'd still say Crysis stands up to that, maybe Farcry 2 on PC could stand up to it, though frm what I've seen.

Limp.

I havent personally seen the game in real life so I will trust them and it looks pretty good. Even though I dont own a PS3. It looks like indigo prophecy with awesome graphics.
The game might have contention for that title if we are speaking about console games, but games in general, certainly no way. Crysis looks absolutely phenomenal, obviously, and it is almost a year old. Crysis Warhead steps that up (in a way, I think of it as Crysis 1.5, graphically speaking), and putting Heavy Rain into the category of "best graphics ever", is absloutely insane. Then again, "best graphics ever", can also be from an art standpoint. Then again, Heavy Rain isn't exactly a work of art.
It looks like a very good game, but I find it extremely hard to believe they would categorize it into "best graphics ever", I hope that forgot to add the console bit, even though I don't think it will be the best looking console game when it is released. Everyone has their own opinion, though.
"Oh well. I was giving you a chance not to be a total troll. The icon gave it away, but I like to give the benefit of the doubt."Not really, you are arguing everything but the point., it's pretty lame. This website has an option to payas well, they are not specifically saying console. Fanboy or noob.
Here's some jungle screenshots taken for you to enjoy while you ponder that choice.

"Want to try and make an honest thought of it, dropping the pointless ad hominem?"
Ad Hominem, you say? I believe that's the first time I've ever seen a logical fallacy mentioned in a games forum.

"What are your system specs, MIALER_DAEMON?"Geforce 8800gt, 3 gig ram DDR2 533MHz PC2-4200, AMD Athlon 64X Dual Core 4800+, windows xp with Dx10 "very high" hack. (still dx9)
Crysis? No it's a fps.
Heavy Rain, if it's like it Fahrenheit yes most likely. You can see button tapping icons in the trailer.

The game looks spectacular, but I wouldn't go as fars as "Best graphics ever".
I'm really looking forward to this game.
I think everyone in this thread is missing the point of video games. Technical graphics do not matter.
I can say Crysis has the best technical graphics of any game, but what does that matter? Nothing! The gameplay is what matters!
I can play a game from 1998 with horrible textures and have more fun than some amazing graphics game in 2008.
Graphics complement the gameplay. A good example of this is STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl, where the graphics establish an atmosphere and setting, and look very realistic. From a technical standpoint its not that advanced, but it looks real and contributes to the immersion, and that's far more important.
So you can say Heavy Rain has the best graphics, he can say Crysis has the best graphics, but I and 99% of gamers do not care!
Lmao, funny how some people are bashing the game (OMGZ QTEs LOLZ) without knowing jack shit about the title.
I wouldn't go as far to say i has the best graphics ever, because that is a matter of opinion, but I would say it has some of the best graphics on consoles ever.
Now as far as QTEs goes, that is not all the game is made up of, as some people are assuming (stupidly so). This game is going to have some of the most amazing story telling and cinamatics out there, probably something we will have never seen before it, and will see more of years after its release. The ability to change course of the story however you see fit, as if you are the director, is amazing.
Think of it as a movie where your actions you choose to make have actual consiquences in the main story and gameplay, and vice versa. Remember thoise goosebumps books where it would have you choose at the end of every few pages what you want to do? Think of this like that, except its not like a menu screen coming up and saying "do you want to kill this person, or let them live" (ala Bioschock), but rather more simple and elegant so to speak. What you do in the game will change the course of the story, sometimes even without you knowing it.
If you grab ten people to play the game, its pretty likely that each will have seen and expereinced events that other players didn't, and vice versa.
Actually Daemon, Jayge was right on the money. The graphics for Heavy Rain are extremely technically impressive because of the nature of the gameplay. Less rendering is necessary than in a more open game, therefore it is easier to increase the quality of graphics within a contained setting. The facial features in those screenshots are more impressive than henchman X in Crysis.
Deal with it.
i just watched more videos on this and it appears that its all QTEs can anybody give me a video that say other wise ?
"i just watched more videos on this and it appears that its all QTEs can anybody give me a video that say other wise ?"Dude, it is NOT all QTEs. There is only one video out for the game, its a trailer, they are not going to show every aspect of gameplay there. XD
Imagine the QTEs like cutscenes, except you can interact with them via contact sensitive QTEs that actually will evolve the story however you want it to go. For example, in the part of the game you could have called the cops and they would come and arrest the guy, you could have killed him, you could have ran away and he would still be alive, he could have killed you and the story would move on, etc. Story differs in many threads so you can do what you want and that will effect the story.

"I don't even care about this game, I just like arguing. :D"Same with myself, although I'd be interested to get a little time at my friend's house with the final product.

"After just recently attempting to play the 'game' Indigo Prophecy, I can say that heavy rain is definately going to need more than good graphics to capture the least bit of my attention."For some reason, I am highly doubtful that you actually played Fahrenheit... can you even tell me the story spoilers and endings?
