Games with AI design/auto combat...

I have come to realize that all my favorite games involve some kind of designing/building/AI/strategy. A good example was FF12's gambit system. Assigning a logical order of instructions for the AI to execute, finding good skills/combos/synergy, then taking your team into semi real time combat... FUN times.

Guild Wars 1 was another example of a game where you could design a team/strategy/set of skills, and then let the AI do it's work. I also have fun with any type of card game where there is a large emphasis on the 'deck build phase'.

So the question - Can anyone recommend any games in this 'AI/building genre'?

Thanks!

Dragon Age Inquisition.

EDIT: Fuck. I meant Origins. Dragon Age Inquisition had a skeleton of this.

MOBAs are super heavy on this kind of composition work and building synergy, you just have to covince your shitty teammates to understand your genius first. ~

Also you actually have to play the game too.

Honestly, a lot of RPGs hit a similar note with how you customize your characters to beat specific situations or min/max to brute force it. Kingdom Hearts has a system moderately similar to gambits "but a lot simpler" and so does Dragon Age. Persona 3/4 can let you leave the AI up to the task, but aside from the main character, customization is limited. Isn't puzzles and dragons something along these lines? But maybe you don't want to go down the mobile f2p hole. XD

I guess it's kind of a broad description, but I can relate to wanting something specific without being to articulate it perfectly. T.T

EDIT: Actually, if you haven't played it. FF7s materia system is one of my favorite things just for that reason. There is so much weird stuff you can try and syngergize to greatly varying effects.

@mrcaptain: I would also recommend trying Frozen Synapse. I didn't play a lot of it, but what I played was very intriguing. It's worth a look at the very least.

THIS is what caused me to ask this question. Been playing a lot of Heroes of the Storm lately. I love crafting teams/builds, but hate trying to get people together. Guild Wars used to have a similar moba style single player arena mode, but they removed it.

Ill check out Frozen Synapse and Robo Code (already played Dragon Age Origins). Any other suggestions?
