I have been looking for a good Clonial era game and i can not find one . The Clonial ear has so much potential.
Imperial glory is alright but to slow and with no clonies or real objectives.
and the battle view sux cock.
Dont like the civliseation games. They are too slow paced.
total war empire is full of bugs so i am not even going to try it.
There are a lot cool eras or settings that have been tried but ended up shit.
Do you now any more eras or setings that just fell short of the mark?
Games with cool settings but were poorly made?
I would say Age Of Conan when it was first released, had some very awesome and beautiful settings, but I hear the game has improved a ton.
"Clonial ear." Dude, you got to improve your spelling and grammar for people to understand what you are saying. Because you said "civ" I am assuming you meant colonial right? In that sense, I do agree with you because there have been many disappointments in that genre. Still, there are some people who adore the Civ games (I am not one of them; I am more impartial on it) so they will disagree with you.
I wish we could see more Wild West games, even if the ones so far are pretty good (Gun and Call of Juarez). I got to agree with Ahmad_Metallic though with this one:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has a fantastic setting/atmosphere, but the game was hard as balls and not engaging. Civ is amazing I personally love the game.
I wouldn't say STALKER was poorly made, the devs just took a bite bigger than they could chew. But STLAKER is still an excellent example of atmosphere.
" mirror's edge definetly, I mean it wasnt bad, but they couldve done a LOT more with it... "how so? o_O
" @Shindiggah said:well, its just that the environments were all so amazing, they reminded me sort of like some of the ones in Jet Set Radio Future, where you can use the environments to progress. But the thing with me was (and maybe I jusst wasnt playing right :P) it all felt a bit boring, like true there were always a few paths you could take to get missions done, but other then that the game felt completely linear, this game would definetly serve itself well as COMPLETELY open world." mirror's edge definetly, I mean it wasnt bad, but they couldve done a LOT more with it... This just screams The Conduit. It had tons of potential considering what it was, yet it failed. Badly.
" As much as I like Half Life 2, the first half of the game before you get out of C17 was the best set piece. I really liked the whole surveillance state sorta feel they evoked. The rest of it, as much as it is fun just didnt give off the same feel as the beginning. "Yeah I liked it when I was just walking around with no weapons and running away, then it just got more and more boring.
Maybe that's why I liked Mirror's Edge...
" Hellgate: London "I love that game. Absolutely love it.
In response to the topic: Try 1701 (or any other game in the series), for a good "Colonial Era" game.
" @TheMustacheHero said:It's pretty short, rent it if you can. The only thing that I would buy it for would be time trials." @Intercryllic said:You know, everyone I know who has Mirrors Edge loved it, is it worth the buy?
