Games you hate! Let's here it!
What games do you hate? Tell me why you hate them. Is it the fans? The game itself? Or somthing else?
I'll list my favourite games to hate on, feel free to do the same! I'm unloading with everything i've got!
Also, get ready for the flammers...
World of Warcraft: I don't know If I'd actually like the game if I played it, but from where I stand right now the obsessed players I meat (In person) P*** me off. They think its the only game in existance that matters. If they see somthing in it and another game (If they EVER see another one) they freak out and start screaming "Warcraft did it first!" does it matter? Only to them. Now the worst part: Everyone I know (Ex-Friends and such) who play WOW are drug addicts... for whatever reason they all do Cocaine and have to smoke pop daily or else they break down and attack family members (True story) ...I know WOW didn't cause this, but they can't play without being stoned. No friend I know that does drugs, doesn't play WOW 10 hours a day, every day. (Its unbelievable, but yeah, thats how it is where I live.)
God of War (Only the first one): What the hell is so good about this game! I don't see it... I beat it twice (PS2 and PS3) and only the second time for some effortless trophies... Everything that anyone can like about this game I hate! When they praised the story I said, "No, I can see how dumb Kratos is. The eventual plot twist isn't going to get me!" Its just another revenge isn't the answer story! When people said the graphics were the best they had seen (PS2 Version) I could hand them a pile of games with better visuals. And then they praised the combat... okay, the QT death scenes are cool ONCE, then they get annoying... then theres the crappy controls themselves. I love 3rd person action games! But this one is a clunky mess that fights you the whole time you play it! Also, I just hate bald hero's in games... just give your MC somthing that isn't military issue and i'll not insta hate him. I find the second game in the series PLAYABLE, can't vouche for the third, but I'd rather dig my eyes out with a spoon before replaying the first game again.
Halo 2 (And so far every game in the series after it): I enjoy the first Halo, not sure exactly why, but I like it. It might be that all the other games are Multiplayer driven... and I don't like Halo's Multiplayer community. Halo 2 showed me that squeaky voiced teenagers are the single most annoying thing in existance. Especially when they're trash talking you while face humping they're recently killed team members... and then whine after you cave there skull in with a shotgun. I have some other online specific gripes, weapon nerfing, standby exploit and lack of a health bar and such but I'm done with this game now.
Alright, thats all I've got for now! Might have another one comming later, but for now I'm going to take a nap and see if this page has been burned down by angry fans by tommorow morning...
" Big Buck Trophy Hunt. it makes me cringe "It's a hunting game right? All hunting games generally suck ( in my super humble opinion) ;)
" @AjayRaz said:agreed. though, i thought it would be the funny kind of bad :(" Big Buck Trophy Hunt. it makes me cringe "It's a hunting game right? All hunting games generally suck ( in my super humble opinion) ;) "
God of war 3, it's not fun at all. I haven't played a game so not fun since stalker shadow of cherynbol. It wasn't what I expected yet I thought the second game was better or more epic.
Mgs4, only 5 hours and 50 minutes of gameplay with someone who's slightly ADD = disaster. Honestly if you aren't a fan anymore and moved onto splinter cell games, the story does nothing for me. I skipped all the cutscenes and played the game, or half of the gameplay I expected from other mgs games. It's just some action game with a bit of fake stealth with endless glorified boss battles that's been done many times before with endless cutscenes, with the ratio of 3:1 vs gameplay.
Far cry 2, enough said. Half the ppl likes this game, so I sort of hate the fans for that game.
prototype, talk about the lowest quality game i've ever played. It's like a bunch of noob developers saying, okay let's make a 3rd person perspective action game, let's give him all the powers in the world and it would be cool. Infamous owns that game.
resistance 2, die and try again if you don't stand where ted price wants you to stand. On normal difficulty, it's like hard and heatshots counts for nothing. If you weren't standing in the right place for their constant ambush gameplay, you won't have enough life or enough firepower to kill everyone. I haven't played a more linear game since portals.
stalker: shadow of chernybol, honestly, the realism is unique, it's just not fun. It's like a college computer science project released as a game. It's tolerable.
Was just about to post this. Color me confused." for 1 and 3,you didn't mention a single thing about the games. You only talked about their fanbase. "
I'm also surprised that World of Warcraft seems to bring out the criminal element in people, according to the OP. I've been playing for over five years and it has never compelled me to want to try drugs.
Final Fantasy. I didn't care about the characters. I didn't care about the story. And I sure as hell hate the gameplay.
LocoRoco. Sure it's fine if all you try and do is finish the game, but most of the time I'm a completionist. So having to do a whole level over again (for 100% of course) because some stupid flying spider ate one of my little blobs is incredibly annoying.
The Last Remnant, the game's one big grind session, the story is short and uninteresting and most of the game doesn't even tie in with the plot. Not to mention that you will die a lot because there's no real way of telling which areas in the game have IMPOSSIBLY STRONG ENEMIES.
At the top of my mind is Star Ocean: The Last Hope. I finished Till the End of Time on PS2 and thought it was great, with just over 100 hours of time. I played The Last Hope for all of... 3-4 hours? In that time, most of the characters were kind of bringing me down, the protagonist especially (who I lovingly dubbed Space Jerk), some of the design aesthetics seemed off... I think it was about the time when I beat a boss and my newly acquired party member said "You need to get back to base, lets go in my space ship!" and, with no input on my part, Space Jerk says "That's ok, we will walk!" that I really started losing hope.
Its the worst thing I've ever played.
Men in Black: The Game is the worst game i ever played . I rented this piece of trash and couldn't get past the first five minutes where you have to disarm a bomb, with no hints or anything as to what you are meant to be doing. The one time i randomly did disarm it you had to all of a sudden chase a guy out a window as soon as you stepped out said window BANG you get shot and die forcing you to disarm that god dam bomb again.
The three God of War games Dante's inferno and Sonic Unleashed the daytime stages were fine but the Werehog stages were garbage.
There aren't really any games i hate, if a game is bad, i'll just stop playing it and put it away. No need to torture myself anymore. As for games i haven't played, i try not to hate things before i've experienced them and i know what i'm talking about, makes me look like an idiot.
And Yet It Moves, just the name bothers me, maybe I'm a little bit of a grammar nazi for not liking a fragment sentence as a title of a game. But the gameplay looks awesome.

I have played my share of almost unanimously bad games in my day but as far as more popular ones go... I dislike the Halo series, not just because I consider it a mediocre shooter at best but it was one of the first to really take the focus for FPS away from the PC. I have been primarily a PC gamer all my life and with a few exceptions, almost every shooter coming out for PC is a console port, and not always a good one. I just don't enjoy the console shooter experience or design as much and there is no way a game like the original Deus Ex would provide the same experience on console, not to mention something like Quake should never be played with a controller.
I also never liked the Metroid Prime games. I tried to play through it on three or four separate occasions and could never get more than a couple hours through before I couldn't stand it anymore.
I never finished Final Fantasy XII, either. I thought most of the story and characters were great (except Vaun... something about how his voice sounded, I wanted to punch him every time he said something) but I could not stand the battle system. Taking control of two characters away and having you create a giant 'if...else' statement made it feel like an MMO to me, only without any other actual people around, thus negating the only redeeming factor of MMOs (in my opinion). So I made it about 15-20 hours in and just stopped and haven't picked it up since.
I also think sometimes I am the only person that didn't hate Final Fantasy X-2. While it is true that the story and 'girliness' of the game was certainly not in the vein of the other FF games, I though the battle system was quite enjoyable. Certainly not the best but not the worst.
" @puercoperro335 said:lol I don't feel bad about it, I just hate uttering that name in my head, it's not like I'm gonna tell everyone not to buy it because of the name. It's the gameplay that counts, and it looks fantastic in that regard." There has only been one game that when brought up as a quality product I would completely and passionfully disagree with and that is Bioshock.
When Bioshock came out I was told it was one of the most unique products in years. I was told it had an amazing local, interesting characters, grade A plot, revolutionary gameplay, stylised graphics and one of the best plot twists in our media.
What I played was a second rate shooter with uninspired weapons, unoriginal and boring enemies (Big Daddy's included), C-Movie script and plot, a 'barely there' inventory system, completely pointless moral system and one of the most predictable moronic plot twists I have ever seen in any media. The only thing I liked about Bioshock is the addition of 'Pipe Dreams' as a minigame. That's it.
" There has only been one game that when brought up as a quality product I would completely and passionfully disagree with and that is Bioshock.I unfortunately have to agree with this, as it really did nothing new other than set itself in a time period that wasn't common at the time. The difficulty was also laughable as soon as you figured out you could never really die in that game. Then I took my time killing off the Big Daddies with minimal waste of ammo and health packs, and always had them in excess. Yes, this includes the hardest difficulty as well. It is not to say I didn't enjoy it the first time around, but it was more of a time-waster that I would only sit through once, and to this day I would never want to play that game again. Didn't even look at the sequel also, seeing as it was just an iterative sequel to cash on the franchise with little effort it seems.

So to sum up my opinion of the game, I dislike it for tricking people into thinking it's plot or gameplay was somehow innovative or revolutionary, when it was a system shock game in disguise. I guess people like to play the exact same stories in games again and again but in different locales it seems, and praise them for doing just that.
"For me I don't really hate any games, but mw2 really pisses me off whenever I play it. "
The God of War series - I dunno, I'm just not a big fan of them. I dunno what it is about them, I prefer games like DMC and Bayonetta to GoW for that genre. And I just think Kratos is an unlikable character. Hilarious, but unlikeable.
Modern Warfare 2 - Didn't enjoy the 4 hour story at all, and the multiplayer, whilst techinically brilliant in terms of its gameplay, is not my sort of FPS thing. I got to seventy, and stopped there as I had little interest in playing it any further/being shot in the face by dual shotguns all the time. I prefer slower paced sort of shooters, something like Halo. The online community can be incredibly janky at times, too, but hey, what online gaming community isn't sometimes?
Mass Effect 2 on Insanity, Collector-based levels - But that's mainly because I kinda suck at it =( SCREW YOU HARBINGER, GO ADC SOMEWHERE ELSE YA BASTARD! Oh, and Scions. Joy.
Killzone 2. The game starts off awesome, with the graphics overwhelming the senses, but that was the end of the fun (for the most part). The game throws you into battle and the next 30 minutes consist of the game giving me a massive headache while I attempt to figure out the controls and terrible cover system, it was as if the devs had never played the hundreds of fps games in the past decade. Then the game tells you to take out a bridge, but then it doesn't tell you where the rockt launcher is, so I have to go running around like a chicken with its fucking head cut off while still being shot at. The one good part is when you get that lightning gun thing, and can actually kill the people you are attempting to aim at. The last boss battle blew, and I only beat it easily because I had a flamethrower. Oh ya, one more thing. FUCK YOU RICO!
Also MGS4, I don't hate the game. I just never really was compelled to finish the game after the first act. But the fans, I hate you all. I'm so fucking tired of hearing, "OMGZ you just don't understand, Kojima is a genius!." I understand one thing, that anyone who says anything along those lines in fact sucks. At everything. They couldn't even get a job sucking off Kojima, because they would suck at that. Most of these people are SOny fanboys. And I laughed outwardly (lol) when Rising was announced for 360, "Its not even a REAL MGS game, Kojima isn't even the lead," even though Rising is the best looking and most intriguing game yet in the series.
I don't usually buy games unless i'm sure i'll get at least some enjoyment out of it, but STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl was a recent disapointment. I really WANTED to love that game; I loved the immersion of the world and some of the realistic elements to it, but the gunfights are just so incredibly unnappealing; I know it's realistic, but waiting 5 minutes for the enemy to stop shooting, then shooting 10 bullets straight at him without hitting anything, then getting shot once and dropping dead is not what I like to do in games. Hopefully CoP will be a little more to my tastes.

Halo 3: It's boring, slow, and puts me to sleep every time I try and play it.
World of Warcraft: I played this game so much that there's more of an unhealthy love-hate relationship here. It's a great game but, it ruined me on anything that had anything in common with it be it another MMORPG or otherwise. Because of this, I will not play it again.
" Kingdom hearts, I DON'T want to play it, I NEVER want to play it, STOP telling me to play it!!! "Play it. :)
Annualized sports games...I pick up a new NHL game ever 4 years or so, but people who buy a new Madden/NHL game every year are tools
"Infamous totally owns Prototype....that game just felt pointless.God of war 3, it's not fun at all. I haven't played a game so not fun since stalker shadow of cherynbol. It wasn't what I expected yet I thought the second game was better or more epic.

Anyway, the games I hate are:
Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Uncharted 2. They're not bad games, but I don't like them. I spent 60 dollars on each of those games, and I wish I could get my money back. I guess I shouldn't hate the games, but rather myself for not renting them first or something.
