with the upcoming gta v re-release what another games would you like to see the same treatment?
I would love a Red dead, the warriors, and chronicles of riddick HD release on steam.
I think cel-shaded graphics might suit it well and fit with the block puzzles and comic-style text bubbles. Maybe have Break Arts cost Risk instead of HP, and the ability to assign different weapons to the D-pad to avoid the constant menu use.
Maybe the first The Darkness? Overall it's still a beautiful game, but there are certainly aspects of it that look rather aged now.
Certainly the entire Ace Combat series, particularly the PS2 games which still look pretty good but could use some higher res cockpits.
Apart from those I'd probably pick the Descent and Terminal Velocity series.
@spoonman671: Beat me to it.
Timesplitters collection?

My goal in pretty much any thread is to be the first one to bring up Vagrant Story.
I'd love to see TimeSplitters: Future Perfect's campaign with new graphics and modern controls.
I had really hoped there'd be some Max Payne Remake DLC in MP3. So many things had changed that it would have been cool to see that original story using today's tech.

I just want a PC version of it, even if they don't touch anything.
After watching the latest Dreamcast Demo Derby, I'd love to see a Skies of Arcadia HD remake. I know there was the Gamecube remake of the original Dreamcast version, so this would be a remake of a remake.
Just to be clear, they wouldn't be 'HD' remakes. Anyways, Gears of War and Mass Effect trilogy, and give them the treatment 4A Games gave to Metro Redux, where they all look and play the same. I'm mainly just saying games that were last-gen, and I would like to see spruced up some on current-gen.
Zombie's Ate my Neighbors and Herc's Adventure would be awesome. Maybe F Zero X for Wii U. I would love to see an HD upgrade of all the 3d mario games in one collection as well.
Also I agree that Time Splitters would be great. Certainly one of the most under rated console shooter series out there. Especially from that era.
I'm amazed at how the PS2 and Xbox era could use some HD remakes, but if you asked me, I'd love more PS1 games a bit beefed up. This sounds silly since this has been re-iterated every generation but Wipeout XL/2097. Keep that style, don't ad bump mapping, just clean up those textures for HD. We already have Wipeout HD, just restore this game to be on HD monitors and screen, I replay this game often and it's still rock solid (since they kept remaking it on every Sony console).
I'd like a retouch--including updated visuals and physics as well as lending some polish--done to Marc Ecko's Getting Up.
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena includes remastered Escape from Butcher Bay.
From Giantbomb Wiki:"The game features the entire Escape From Butcher Bay campaign(which has been improved from the original Xbox version), which can be selected when starting a new game."
Shenmue I and II. I would do anything to just get an HD overhaul of these games, only to show the series some support and eventually, maybe, if miracles do happen, get another sequel.
Tombi! Who wouldn't want to wrestle pigs in glorious HD?
I would also like to see a real remake of Yakuza 1 and 2 using the Yakuza 5 engine. I'd love to replay both but all the loading times between battles and the fixed camera perspective while exploring the city is rough.
But even if that was to happen i doubt SEGA would even consider translating it.
Final Fantasy 7 so people can shut up about wanting a remake.
My real answer would be Dragon Quest VIII.
When all is said and done, I want FFXI released as a remastered offline single-player RPG. I was thinking about this the other night, and that game is already so close to being entirely soloable that they may as well go the final mile and just re-release it as a single player game.
Swat 4...only because I'd like a convenient way to play it in modern resolutions without hacking the hell out of an .ini file.
Legend of Dragoon
No, that game needs a prequel, not a remake.
Really, I'm fine with things not getting "HD re-releases" if they were at least available digitally somehow. I would love to be able to get some form of the Xenosaga trilogy, Dark Cloud 1 & 2, and FFXII on my PS3/eventual 4.
My list of impossible HD remakes is as follows: Max Payne 2, Psychonauts, Silent Hill 2 (I don't count that broken ass garbage we got in 2012).
Oh man, I thought I was the only one who remembered that game! I miss that series so much.
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy 12
Legend of Mana
Super Mario Galaxy Collection
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Collection (Seems like another one of these is never coming so update the old stuff)
Project Gotham Racing Collection
Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts (This game already looks amazingly good on 360)
Power Stone

I was going to say Mark of Kri, but I would love an HD Skies of Arcadia.
BattleZone probably. The late 90s activision one, not the vector based. That game was awesome. Would love to see what that would look like with todays effects and goodies.
Ace Combat up to 6, never got to play 6 because I did not have a 360, but I have considered buying one multiple times just to play that game.
All of my "immediately comes to mind" answers have been said (KOTOR, DQ VIII, FF12) with the exception of Burnout III Takedown, my favorite arcade racer ever. An HD remake with current gen graphics and an audio overhaul would benefit this classic.

Yep, that's a good call. Ace Combat 6 is not such a strong game, but 4,5 and Zero would be fantastic to see in higher resolutions. Also Max Payne, Zone of the Enders and Call of Duty 2.
Metroid Prime Trilogy. It's going for over £100 second hand on amazon. I love the Gamecube games but they werent even widescreen.
Viewtiful Joe 1&2. God Hand. Muramasa. (I would've liked to see this running on the Vita TV but alas nobody at Giant Bomb cared enough)
I'd love to see what a next-gen (current gen) War of the Monsters looks like. That game has aged poorly.
I'm not sure....I'd love to see San Andreas redone with the rage engine and IV's driving, there is a mod for it I guess. Haven't tried it out yet.
I know I'll never ever ever get it but I always want a re-release of Extreme-G 1, 2 and 3. The first two were on N64 and 3 was on GC and PS2. basically they were futuristic combat racers akin to motorcycles. SO GOOD.
But yea, will never, ever happen. :(
