So i guess alot of you are gamespot migraters huh? Well do you think this site is better or not? I mean you can swear, and it has bigger avatars, but its missing unions. I dont know wether to stay or not, what do you think?
Gamespot migraters
Make your own choice. GS topics are getting old, and if you think pathetic unions are the key to a great website, then I don't think many people will stop you. As for what we should tell you, obviously we'll say stay it's a bias choice because this is the website and we are the community that is supporting it.

I was a loyal Gamespot subscriber until the mass exodus. CNet can say all they want, and I know the former employees of the site signed an agreement not to talk about it, but I think it's clear that CNet's management wanted to use Gamespot more for marketing and generating revenue than upholding its journalistic integrity. Strike number one.
The management also underestimated how loyal the core base can be. I turned to Gamespot over its competitors because of guys like Gerstmann, Davis, Kasavin, Navarro, etc., etc. Once those guys were gone, so was the soul of the site. Just go to Gamespot now... it's still busy, but something is missing. Strike two.
Gerstmann then gathers a group of the best guys in gaming journalism and launches a new site... that's Gamespot's third strike.
Now, with this site, you have a site run by guys who know what is great about being a gamer. They understand that you can leave news to Kotaku and Joystiq. You can leave the exclusive previews to sites and magazines willing to whore themselves for a sneak peek. What you get here is hard-core gamers calling it like they see it, and as long as Gerstmann and company are in charge of the editorials, you know they are going to be honest and justified, even if you or I don't agree.
By giving the power to passionate users to contribute substantially to the content on the site, you're going to get something that eclipses other sites.
So what if there are no unions yet. That can be added. But honestly, aside from the Community Contributions union on Gamespot, did any of the unions actually serve a purpose??
I'm sticking with Giant Bomb. In three years, the volume and quality of the content on here will be insane.
I prefer Gamespot right now. Only down to the fact I am more comfortable with it and it is able to supply us with more coverage of events like E3. The guys down an amazing job with the daily podcast however and if things are soo great this early on then I cannot wait to see hwere we all are in a year or so.
Albaker go fuck yourself you idiot. Im aloud to post whatever the fuck i want to. If you cant deal with it then piss off.

I've probably spent a whole 10 minutes of my entire life on GameSpot. I've been using IGN for as long as I've had the internet. But when the whole shit at CNet and GS hit the fan, I started to read Gerstmann's blog and followed the whole thing from there. I don't really have an opinion on the GS thing, but at least you won't have to worry about it happening again. I think it's safe to assume this site is much more laid back than GS will ever be. I'll definitely be sticking around here. It's going to be awesome to watch this site go from a little blog to a massive gaming encyclopedia-cum-news site.
Well because the 4 masters of GB were why I was at gamespot in the first place, personally I got to say GB is the place to be. But on a side note this is more of an indie site, and indie sites need the love.
"I'm never going back to gamespot. Ever. I hope its a ghost town over there. "It's not -- I'll see how GB turns out. So far I'm liking it, though, I don't like how the forums are set up here..but I'll get used to it.
I like the community a similar amount, things are pretty similar though. I prefer this since you can edit the site though.
I love the new site. It is my new gaming home. Here people actually know who I am. I have a lot of friends, and I love the community based theme. We can edit stuff and help out with the site.
This site blows (no pun intended) Game spot out of the Water. It is a much cooler site, with much better tools for photos and I love the Wiki system. When Greg Kasavin left Gamespot the site quality went down a lot. Then when Jeff Gertsman got fired in the ridiculous thing on Kane and Lynch the site just lost what little pride it had left. This site kicks ass.
