Me and my buddy walked into a brand new Gamestop store just to check it out. As we browsed around, I began to think of what else I wanted in a video gamestore. I thought about the vast openess of the store and how just the walls where covered in games. What could fit the void? Video game clothing? I mean sure some gamestops have action figures and wallets, but what about the sweet swag we get at e3 or pax? Im talking posters, bags, mouse pads, key chains, gamer grub? I was just interested in what everyone wants in there perfect ideal video game store.
GAMESTOP STORES ARE LAME!!!!
But gamestops are already popular. So it would be a transition. I just walked in there and didn't know what to do really. i mean, I don't want to walk up to the walls and look at box art. Mebbe if they offered to show their own quick looks. Or even have you play some gamestop exclusive demo. It would of been cool of them to show off the playstation move to me, other than saying, "yeah dude I have it its totally cool"
Gamestop could do with hot ladies pouncing lonely looking men who walk into the store and asking them, "Did you pre-order X?"
Game Over Games had some pretty sweet gaming swag.
Also, I went to a Play'n'Trade over the weekend with a friend because he was looking for the PS3 Naruto game. Turns out the store was closing the next day. That was the most depressing consumer environment I have ever been in. The dude behind the counter was in like a wife-beater and he looked miserable. The shelves were are empty and the lights were off. The SSFIV TE stick wasn't plugged into anything and was just laying beneath the powered down TVs. I felt so bad, I just wanted to buy something for the sake of cheering the dude up. My friend even asked him the ring up the price for a xbox naruto game, and asked what kind of deal he could get, and he didn't even buy it. We walked out of the store without saying a word... then went to GameStop.
I felt like a jerk.
" I wouldn't mind having a video game mousepad. Speaking of that, I do need a new one. I had this one for 5 years now. "Ugh yeah, mine's going on nine this year. There's probably enough drinks spilled into it to quench a small town.
I dunno, gamer swag would be kinda neat, and definitely give me a reason to browse there, but I don't generally buy that stuff. Maybe if gamestops delved into a general geek store, with the kinda stuff thinkgeek.com sells, I'd be waaay into it. Game stores need more shit like that.

Thats where all the used games that nobody will ever buy go.
Gamestop carries that type of stuff, My local one carries video game themed wallets...sadly they aren't big enough for my plathoria of cards.
"Where are these magical GameStops that you're visiting that are "vast and open"? Every one I've seen is a tiny little slice in a mall or strip mall crammed so full of shit that you can't even walk from one end to the other, without knocking something over. "

see in a Japanese Convenience store. Crazy food &
drinks, weird toys & what-not.
Last time I went into a Gamestop, all the games on the
shelves were smothered in fingerprints. I felt the need
to wash my hands after I left the store.
" Add in a pointless computer with Steam so you can make a purchase on a game in the store. "Yo I head you like game stores. So I put in a game store in your game store so you can game purchase while you game purchase.
This topic is original.
Still have no problems with them myself. Good deals on anything when you know the manager
