Gaming music

What type of music do you listne to when you game? 
     I listen to more aggreive music like Godsmack, Motley Crue, and The Smashing Pumpkins when I play more violent multiplayer games like Halo, Gears and Team Fortress. When I play slower games like Fallout, Fable and Half-life I'll listnen to more mellow bands like Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy and David Bowie.

I don't listen to music while gaming. I find it distracting.

I listen to ambient music, I guess it heavily depends on what i'm playing. Mass Effect, I listen to alot of ambient music, but that's only when i'm planet crawling, that or the music doesn't suit the mood.

I don't listen to music when gaming. I find the soundtracks on the game good enough.

Can't play games and listen to music at the same time, the music always seems to distract or take me out of the game.

Metal, hardcore punk, grindcore, etc for multiplayer matches.

Mostly I listen to progressive rock/metal while gaming.  I sway more towards hip hop and electronica for racing games though.

I only listen to non-soundtracks when I'm playing an RTS, MMO, Sports, Strategy, or online game. Otherwise, I stick to the music intended for the game.
 
Types I listen to while playing those aforementioned flavors of game:
 
Movie soundtrack (ha) like the Dark Knight, TV soundtracks (ha again) like Battlestar Galactica, or indie bands.

Well, on the PC I usually listen to podcasts or whatever might be on my playlist for the moment.  Nothing specific.  For consoles, I only listen to the game's soundtrack.

I don't usually listen to music. I'll listen to podcasts if anything.

I don't really listen to music whilst playing games, but when I do it tends to be ambient music, but that also depends on the kind of game I'm playing.

Gets me so fired up! 

I listen to gaming podcasts. 
If I play something that I need to focus on to play (Starcraft), I enjoy some Tech N9ne. 

I only ever listen to my own music during racing games, and then it's rawk, baby.

It's usually chillout musics.

Thinking back I wish more games had gnarly bootleg midi songs like DooM, I dare you not to dig that soundtrack while chainsawing demons.

The game music, although sometimes when I'm playing multiplayer, grinding or an arcade game I'll listen to a podcast while I play.
