because as of today the ESRB has rated FF7 for its American PSN release.
get ready to play FF7 in your ps3 or psp
I have my original so it doesn't bother me, but it was bound to happen eventually such a huge title is going to be a large money-maker for Sony at a cost of, almost literally, nothing. It's free money. It'll hit Europe soon too, it's bound to.
yeah I'm probably not going to buy it but I can think of a few million people that would
but come to think of it, it would be nice to have a 4 disk rpg on my psp
ORLY!?!? Have a link for that sir?
Like I said, it's amost literally free money, sony would have to be stupid not to do that in Europe too. While I wouldn't put it past them to do stupid things, companies are notoriously good at sniffing out free money.
Edit: I must be the only person on the planet who feels like a remake would be a bad idea :\
I go to the ESRB everyday to read hilarious game summaries then I found this no summary tho which sucks

There's nothing on te BBFC or PEGI websites. I just checked, but i'm still convinced it will happen for Europe sooner or later.
Edit: I just dislike the idea of remakes in general. Especially stuff that's so close to my heart and could potentially be ruined. I also feel like anyone who refuses to play, or says that the original is unplayable is just deluding themselves. I played it only last year and it's still very playable.
So this is just the Final Fantasy VII International download that was made available in Japan in April, right? Not a big surprise considering Sony maybe looking for a system seller for the redesigned PSP-GO. Few Japanese game franchises catch the Western eye like Final Fantasy.

There are plenty of people who might feel disatisfied with the end product, but it'll stay pretty true to the original. I feel like they've whored out the FFVII universe so much by this point that they just need to complete the circle and end with a remake. Then just leave it alone.

" Anyone know if they added in analog support for the PSN release? "
" I don't own a PS3, but aren't the games launched in some sort of emulation environment? PSX emulators on the PC always let you map the Digipad to the analog stick of your pad, whether the game supported that or not. It doesn't matter if you run an unmodified ISO. "
In both you can select between digital and analog control in the options, but analog only works if the game supports it. Otherwise, it would be like hitting the analog button on a DualShock 1 or 2 on a game that does not support it - you won't be able to control the character with either the sticks OR the d-pad.
I like your idea though, Sony really should offer some sort of mapping option to allow analog to be retroactively enabled in games, because it really is a pain in the ass to use the d-pad all the time.
Im so pissed off, I live in the UK so we don't get it yet. Europe is so under-supported and it shouldn't. First of all europe is Sony's largest install base and is considered Sony territory. Also as of 2008 the UK took over Japan in revenue generated from software and hardware sales. SO WTF. Why North America?

But seriously, the best way for them to realize what their consumers want is from the consumers directly. Try contacting SCEE through their blog or something and let them know your feelings about the situation.
