yeah i understand. i don't have a problem with the people that have the medals. it's more the medals themselves that do the mocking. anyway i don't mean it to be taken seriously :P
I like my medal, shows I help support this great site. 90% of the people I have seen that don't like the medal are people who have not subscribed, but there are a few subscribers that don't care for it, so make a toggle on and off for the medal. Don't try to take my medal away because you don't like it.
just make it some colored border around the image or some label, them medals are just distracting and ridiculous, i guess that's the way they like it though.
I'm all for making it optional if people don't like the look of it, but does it really matter as far as splintering off the community goes? We're not pulling eachother to shreds over console of choice.

This except instead of non-subscribers getting bronze make it so non-subscribers get bronze after being registered for a year or if they did a lot on wiki or something along those lines.

I have revived your words because change can and will goof stuff up. People in this thread are just being silly.
And the medals are just tacky enough to be charming. If everyone had them, though, I think that'd be way over the top. It's just a small feature that really shouldn't have people all wound up.

I've already grown accustomed to them. Let people chew on them for a week or so and things will probably calm down. And I agree with you, it would be over the top to give them to everyone.

I don't know. I like being able to see who is a subscriber right there, without needing to click on their profile (assuming that is how you would tell if the medals weren't there). A toggle on the users end as to whether they see them would be good. But a toggle to make yours invisible im just not into.
I like the idea of a bronze metal for members that don't have a monthly or yearly membership. Other than that, i don't think they would get rid of them.
I just hope it doesn't make us non-subs look like total outcasts. Like, I dont want to click my way into a topic and get trolled by a bunch of dandy boy subs :-P
