@somestickguy_ Are you still taking suggestions for these, or are you busy with other projects for now? Just thought of X-Files, what with the new miniseries starting next week.
Giant Bomb TV Intros: The Odd Couple ed. (Updated 12/17)
It's funny that you should ask today, of all days.
My schedule just cleared up. I have a few ideas to play around with, and I'll most definitely consider my X-Files-related options!
@glottery I'm been thinking about what I could to with The X-Files. A Klepek angle is one possibility (The scoops are out there), but who would be the Scully to his Mulder? Gita Jackson? And what footage would I even use, is there even anything to work with? Also what would I call it?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
@somestickguy_: Well if it's a Patrick video. The Scoop(s) Files could be one name. Not sure if it would work with the "s" there or not.
Uh and oh. Those are all great questions, that I'm probably unable to answer...so you'd probably have to visit the deepest depths of your imagination for those! But at least I agree on the fact that it'd probably be best with a Patrick theme to it. Maybe UPF (0:20:06) prods your brain goo somehow creatively...or make you abandon it, when Vinny and Jeff make fun of the intro!
@somestickguy_: That was great! I always loved it when Rorie would start sing that song.
As much as I hate that original Star Trek Enterprise intro with a passion, you made it actually awesome. Bravo!
Goddamnit, the ending of that Enterprise video was perfect.
One intro I can't help but to think of Giant Bomb whenever I see it is the later season intros for NCIS. The combination of the extremely silly late 90's trance with some crazy cuts and transitions looks like it could lend itself pretty well to some classic GB green-screen nonsense.
The work you're doing is top-shelf! Keep it up. Your stuff, and the new season of Alt+F1 made me think of a 'Top Gear' style intro.
@jangofett88: I like it! I haven't listened to Alt F1, but are there any good candidates for a third presenter? I know Dan guested once.
@somestickguy_: The one and only Dave Lang.
@somestickguy_: I don't think Vinny has ever been on Alt+F1, but since he's kind of the staff's racing wheel connoisseur, I would propose him for the third presenter.
This one's been requested for so long I can't find the first. Here's a Cop Show throwback, Law & Order style!
@somestickguy_ HOLY CRAP THESE ARE ALL GREAT!! I think I had only ever seen the Law & Order one. WOW, DUDER!!
Do you have tutorials you do or ones you recommend!? (Sorry if you've been asked a bunch before)
@thethirdrlm: I learn in a pretty weird way. I look at TV intros and try to reverse-engineer them, and if there's a particular thing I can't figure out how to do I can usually find a Youtube tutorial.
That said, Lynda.com has some really good stuff for beginners. I've been plugging through "After Effects CC Essential Training" and picking up a lot that I wish I'd known about sooner. It's a subscription based service, though, as is the Adobe Creative Cloud (which is 100 percent worth it if you want to create stuff). If you're a student, that makes things much easier on the wallet - in fact, I'm getting Lynda for free.
Also I wrote this ages ago when I was a total Youtube newbie and had just finished Giant Bomb Nine-Nine. It's not exactly a tutorial, but it might give you an idea of the process.
Looked through the thread and didn't find this little gem. Someone posted it a long time ago on the forums, so sorry to not credit them, but I felt this needed to be here.
There was also one with the Attack on Titan theme, but I can't find it on YouTube. I have it somewhere on a backup drive, so I know it exists. If I find it I'll post it here.
Edit: I found it, but it's blocked... It wasn't that great anyway. It totally was though! :(
@somestickguy If you can do one with this, you will be a god amonst men, good sir.
@somestickguy So....after today's 6 hour stream, and all of the VRodeos, I kind of really need you or someone to do something with one of these.
Kept you waiting, huh?
(I've been real busy with studies! Don't worry, I'm doing excellent. It's Christmas break though, so I thought I'd crack open the ol' video mashup chestnut!)
@silver-streak That, my friend, is an excellent idea. I'll see what I can do!
