Hay duders, what's a good year to watch the giant bomb E3 after show? I haven't seen any of them pre 2014. What's a good one to watch?
P.s woohoo it's E3 :)

I can't remember much from the 2013 one other than all of their stuff got stolen, its on a porn set and Boyes snuck a PS4 to the show. Oh and there were also a lot of funny photoshops that came from the sets, like from John Drake. I bet there was a lot of stupid stuff i have forgotten.
The E3 2010 After Hours show was kind of crazy, but recommended. Some real good (drunken) moments. I don't believe they are archived on the site but they are on Youtube.
Oh yeah the E3 2011 After Hours was also very good. Featuring guests like David Jaffe, Mega64 and Dan Ryckert.
@pie: They are all available in video form too. Well, at least the ones from 2010 going forward.

This is the answer (and 11 too). Others have been good but fuck that moment is still one of my most cherished moments. I could not have cringed and laughed harder at the same time.
@el_dude_a_reno: Jeff looks so lean nowadays, and that location looks shockingly professional
@el_dude_a_reno: Back in the days when they did their E3 aftershows in a porn studio. (Not kidding)
@aegon: Ryan absolutely shined in all the E3 stuff. He was basically the center of it all and the wacky fun atmosphere really was perfect then.
this is the one you're looking for.
never forget the timebelt.
@poser: Nah it's not just you. I still enjoy it but it isn't as good as it used to be. The Bombcast in particular is a shadow of what it was.
Ryan is missed.

yea, still enjoy the bombcast a bunch but its rarely funny anymore. at least not like at used to be. the beastcast sometimes has glimmers of it though
@poser: I'm really glad someone else expressed this sentiment because I was worried that I was getting cantankerous in my old age or that all these years on the internet had finally turned me into a shitty, negative asshole incapable of enjoying anything.
Looking back I miss the old Giant Bomb so much. I feel like the site isn't as good anymore. But honestly it may just be a case of me getting older and getting jaded.
Kids, don't become an adult, it's the worst.
The real problem is that our memories become a highlight reel and everything dull and listless simply fades away.
Everything was more awesomely remembered than it actually was because memory is an imperfect form of data storage.
@undeadpool: that's a real thing, but also a real thing is the site not being as entertaining anymore. There's a sad and obvious reason why, in part.
I'm someone who goes back to old GB content a lot too, from the period being discussed in particular.
I still love their content nowadays but yeah with the loss Ryan Davis this site not reaching their peak. Really wish the gang was together still but I understand why they aren't.
You people saying recent E3's have been boring are insane. Johnny V. tweeting out Dave Lang's phone number during E3 2015 will forever be an all-time classic Giant Bomb moment.
Yeah, I know where that sentiment is coming from, but in regards to the E3 shows specifically I cannot agree. Sometimes the guests are interesting or funny. Sometimes they're clearly tired and don't say much. Sometimes it's a magical trainwreck. It's always been that way and I don't think the passage of time has really changed that too much. The sets are a little more professional, I guess.
If I have to pull out some highlight moments off the top of my head though: the Leigh Alexander shows in 2009 and 2010 (775 MILLION DOLLARS) Justin McElroy and the ongoing Sherlock Holmes saga/Time Belt, that time a pre-Giant Bomb Dan talked with Jenova Chen about online dating, Johnathan Blow vs E and Stepto, "I WONDER where all the people went?", Basically any time the Johnny V./Dave Lang/Adam Boyes power combo was on, and that part last year where Lorne Lanning talked about how he made a fake Oddworld trailer.
It was so much different before 2015 when they went to a "late night talk show" format. They all had their moments for sure. My two favorite are the police precinct (2013) and 2011 college house. Ryan had a way of wrangling a room full of disparate drunken personalities that I get the idea that they can't quite get away with anymore so they go with the talk show format now. I agree with someone above, it's either watch it live or never listen or watch it, it just doesn't play on audio or later on like it used to.

Some of my favorite Quick Looks are the Dragonball Evolution and those weird Wii gameshow ones, but from my perspective: 3 things happened.
1) Giant Bomb had to become more professional.
Despite Dan introducing things like vodka mixed with nacho cheese, the site HAS become less wild and whimsical, but that's probably by design. The duders have gotten older, financial situations for online content have shifted and, sadly, being a part of the CBS Family likely means they can't go outdoors and try to slice up fruit with a katana until the police come anymore.
2) Games got better.
Shovelware is now relegated largely to mobile devices, which Giant Bomb doesn't cover, so there are definitely fewer "goofy" Quick Looks, though I'd argue that content like Bequest and the yearly sports QLs are just as hilarious as anything from the old school.
3) Ryan died.
That shit sucks. He was simultaneously a force of chaos and order who can't possibly be replaced and I'm actually pretty happy they didn't try to. No one has felt like "the New Ryan" in all their hires.
