No one brings up Google when speculating about another technology company following Microsoft into the console gaming world. Remember Google is not just a search engine its on a quest to take over the technology world. it owns the Android marketplace which has taken the mobile market by storm and a large portion of sales in the marketplace is for the sale of mobile games. Google has also released its new technology, dubbed “Native Client” to deliver high-end games on your browser.....It seems google is taking steps to move into the gaming market - exciting :D

I would be surprised if it was to move beyond the mobile gaming side of things. It'll be happy competing and winning against apple on that front, no need to spend all that money on the development of a console and the advertising.

The main reason is probably because Google is still not in the business of making physically products. It's not beyond them in any way, of course, but they have a history of not selling tangible, physical things.

Nobody is going to make another console as long as the current three are still there. It's just too busy and a new product has virtually no chance of forcing its way in. Microsoft only took the chance once Sega dropped out and they spent an insane amount of money on making it happen, and even then, it likely would have failed if it weren't for one game that made the whole thing take off, and its system link capabilities.

If they're interested in making a system and not just mobile stuff, they'll be waiting to see if anyone else drops out.

I really hope this doesn't happen. Google already does too much stuff as it is. Also, I don't think it would happen for a long while if it ever does.

The only way they could make a dent is if they took a different route by offering quality games at a far cheaper price.

When did I say I was super excited about that?
