Well, Fallout, you had a good run. Too bad your shooting sucked ass so so bad, even compared to a ME game! Your definitely not winning this on writing, IMO.
I really wish Fallout 3 had grabbed me like it did for so many others, but it just never did. Mass Effect 2.
If Mass Effect 2 steamrolls Fallout 3 (i hope it does) like it did everything else so far then it's all but confirmed it wins the whole thing.
We shall see. Mass Effect 2 has yet to face it's greatest foe: Dark Souls. I still expect ME2 to win but it may be close.
I would've voted New Vegas, but ME2 gets this over F3, easily. Fallout 3 gets my vote for hands-down ugliest art-design of the generation, though.
Fallout 3, because I haven't played Ass Meffect 2.
I don't really hold any negative opinions of ME2. I just find Ass Meffect 2 funny, for whatever reason.
I have a feeling ME2 will take it in the end, which is completely fine. Personally, the last of us is slightly better, but ME2 is a super close second for my favorite game this gen.
Wow Naru Joe - those are my feelings exactly :D
Internet hi-5.
Fallout 3. That was the game that showed me, more than Oblivion, that this was the 'next gen'.
I won't be sad for ME2 to take this though.
Even though I like Fallout 3 more, Me2 is the better game and I accept its victory.
This for me too. I had more fun with, and enjoyed the stories more in Fallout 3 than in Mass Effect 2, but I do agree that it's a better product.
It's the same way I feel about Mass Effect against Mass Effect 2. ME2 is a superb game, but the other two had me captivated, despite their glaring flaws.
EDIT: It's funny; Fallout 3 experienced the same sudden jump from beloved to hated as BioShock Infinite.
Go die in a radiation chamber despite having numerous means to opt out of doing so, Fallout 3. Mass Effect 2 is probably going to take this whole thing, isn't it? I'd be okay with that.
I feel better about the last round now, knowing that Super Mario Galaxy probably would've also lost this one miserably. It's perhaps better that it bowed out with some dignity by losing a close match.
Look at the illusive man there and tell me you will not be voting Mass Effect 2.
Because I had a shit ton of fun with Fallout 3. I loved ME2 but Fallout 3! But it's losing so whatever.

well i'm glad bethesda got two titles into the last eight, but i'll have to join the masses for this one, as much as ME2 infuriates me at times, i have played through it a total of seven times, and Fallout a total of a half - the setting just didn't hook me like the elder scrolls, hopefully the color palette will be a lot broader in 4.
Wow this is difficult. Both games are so amazing! Mass Effect 2 just had such an amazing universe and atmosphere. The story was great and the RPG/shooter split super fun.
But Fallout 3! I spent so much time immersed in that world. The shooting wasn't great but I still loved the gameplay. Just walking around in that game was great.
UGH.
Mass Effect 2.
Fallout 3 may have been one of the most disappointing games I had ever played. For all the talk about ME3's bad ending, Fallout 3 had one of the worst fucking endings out of any game. It wasn't until they came out with the DLC that they fixed it (and by that point I had sworn off the rest of the franchise).
Wow, I'm surprised at these results. ME2 is a pretty damn good game, but I find Fallout 3 to be a lot more compelling, even if it isn't as technically sound as ME2. Plus it has far, far superior DLC offerings. Point Lookout is one of the best parts of the whole game. I honestly don't think ME2 should've made it this far, but I'm clearly in the minority on that, unfortunately.
I'm fairly certain ME2 will win this (It's a great game), but Fallout 3 is my personal GOTG. So yeah, imma vote for dat.
I gathered my party and fought a terminator.
I've made every character build imaginable in fallout 3, and still find it fun to come up with new builds.
Fallout 3 is GOTG.
@box3ru13 I can only assume you mean their best game this generation, because it most certainly is not the best Bioware has produced. DA:O is Bioware's GOTG though, in case you were wondering.
I will continue to say that Fallout 3 is the weakest of the three games that Bethesda Softworks made this generation and New Vegas is a superior title all-around. But even if it was New Vegas... I'd still have to give it to Mass Effect 2.
On a weird tangent, my brother has been watching a lot of Chuck recently for whatever reason and it always screws me up whenever I see the lady who plays Miranda because she looks pretty much exactly the same, but blonde.
Fallout 3 had a massive effect on me, kept me up til dawn on several occasions. I fell out with mass effect 2 about resources and cover based shooting.
Ok, I'm sorry.
I had great fun with Fallout 3, it really had a fantastic atmosphere & was great fun for many hours. But Mass Effect 2 just steam-lined Mass Effect & made it such a great experience. Yeah, resource shit was bollocks, but I can't think of much more to say against it to be honest. Well, that end boss felt a bit dumb. Wonderful characters though, a compelling story, it's a game I keep coming back to.
I'm not going to sit here and go over my overall beef with Mass Effect 2. I'm just going to say that I think the game is bullshit top to bottom.
Fallout 3, for me, was a massive surprise. I spit vile venom at that game from the minute it was announced. At every turn, as a diehard Fallout fan, I felt like I was being betrayed for an Elder Scrolls ripoff. However, I'm glad that some odd thought popped into my head on launch night to go buy that fucker. It was a great game. Mind you, there were some elements that were divisive for people (I remember @jeff being particularly fucking livid about one of the ending scenarios and needed to talk about it to someone, so he e-mailed me of all people and started expounding how fucked shit was). In the long run, the futuristic aesthetic is something that I find visually pleasing, the storylines were pretty damn cool, and Oasis was easily one of the best quests EVER in a video game. Poor ol' Harold.
