Like a lot of peeps around here, I really enjoyed my time with Skyrim. Dare say, I even loved it. Till you break it by crafting like 400 iron daggers, but hey, not entirely Skyrim's fault.

But The Last of Us is on a whole different level. Ellie and Joel deserve this guys.

The Last of Us, Skyrim was good but it didn't even have the grip that Oblivion had on me.

This result is a bummer, but not really surprising. I didn't expect The Last of Us to even get past The Walking Dead.

This is a travesty. Skyrim is severely overrated. Shame on you, 57% of the GB community.

The Last of Us, easily. I love everything about that game and Skyrim may be my least favorite Bethesda game of this generation(or my favorite, I don't fucking know anymore).

Too bad for the last of us. It really is an amazing game, and I imagine it will lose because way more people have played skyrim and dont own ps3's to play the last of us. All I can do is this

I recommend you play the Last of Us. Even if it's in the distant future, play it when you get the chance. It's a powerful experience that's going to stick with me for some time. If you give it a chance, it might do the same for you

I don't own a PS3 and have about 400 played in skyrim. Fallout 3 is better anyway.

It's tough for me, because they are two very different games that I love. I played Skyrim for hundreds of hours, while Last of Us was a condensed, narrative masterpiece.

I'm fine with this being a Korra .gif thread, though.

I don't really agree with the community on a lot of the choices made here, but from 2006 to now, if I had to pick a top 3, The Last of Us would be #2, sandwiched between a pair of games that have a.ready been eliminated.

Voting for the game that actually works.

You know, I would be perfectly fine with Skyrim winning this one as long as Dark Souls wins the other one...and then fucking obliterates Skyrim for it.

If everyone had actually played both games TLOU would win 75-25...

I don't understand anyone who says the gameplay of TLoU is bad or weak or not fun.

Voted on knee-jerk reaction, The Last of Us won.

Skyrim had some pretty amazing nonlinear moments every few hours of playing, but The Last of Us is quite possibly the best completely linear game I've ever played. It has so many amazing scenes and scenarios and characters and a combat system that is immersive and satisfying. Yeah, it has some problems, but, then again, Skyrim had many more problems.

The Last of Us by a mile here. Every aspect of that game was refined to perfection, and just so incredible to play. Skyrim is a step back in story telling from its predecessors and barely takes a step forward in gameplay, and the AI is still ridiculously stupid and story presentation abysmal. It sure was pretty though.

The last of us had a very well realized setting and better-than-average dude shooting. It kind of dragged on a little though. The gameplay eventually became a chore. I don't even know why, they mixed it up with the bow and the stealth stuff. It just wasn't enough I guess.

Voted for the Last of Us, but would not care if Skyrim won. Loved them both.

In terms of "Game of the Generation", Skyrim would have to take it over The Last of Us.

Voted for TLOU. But Skyrim will win. I guess you guys really like going to linear dungeons and killing the same shitty Dragurs for 200 hours. Oblivion was this generation and it's a way better game than Skyrim. You people are NUTS!

I feel like my whole life has been leading to this moment. The Last of Us is far and away my favourite game of this year, and easily my game of the generation. Skyrim is easily one of my least favourite games in this entire contest.

This is coming from someone that didn't care about the Uncharted series at all, and loved Fallout 3 to death. Ah well, I guess it's cool enough that the first entry in a new franchise actually got this far, without having the backing of a long-term fanbase or technical iteration.

The one time I vote for TLOU it's losing?

I actually enjoyed my time with Skyrim quite a bit, but after dozens of hours in it, there isn't really anything that stands out as memorable (other than the first few dragons, maybe). The world is less generic than Oblivion, but nothing really fantastical or jaw-droppingly beautiful. Oblivion had the better quests, too, and I encountered worse bugs with Skyrim than any Bethesda-game to date. The combat's always been bad in the series, too, so it's not like I played it for the gameplay.

TLOU dragged on IMO, but there are parts in the game I can point to as memorable. The gameplay's not great, but it's not bad and it's a good twist on the usual cover-based shooter. Comparing two completely different games like this is hard, but I feel like Skyrim got me to play for a long time, but TLOU did more with less.

Ah well, TLOU is my personal GOTG either way - I can't wait to see how the next round pans out for Skyrim.

@selfconfessedcynic: Fairly curious about that myself. Then I asked myself "What would this poll look like if it was ME2 vs. TLOU" and realized Skyrim's probably gonna get crushed.

Skyrim because like I said last round, it's the nearest thing to my perfect video game that I've ever played.

The Last Of Us was a game that managed to blow my lofty expectations out of the water. From the sublime storytelling to a combat puzzle that I always found engaging and interesting, this is Naughty Dog’s masterpiece. Skyrim was an amazing game that I spent hours and hours exploring, but The Last Of Us gets my vote all day long.

Another tough one for me. I really like The Last of Us, but Skyrim is just too much fun.

TLOU is my biggest gap in this year library. I guess it has to be really damn good to have come this far, but for some reason I never could got into it.

Skyrim, on the other hand, make me like The Elder Scrolls... That is no small feat considering my dislike for previous entries.

TLUO is obviously the right answer. But I love both games so I'm cool with this result, wrong as it may be.
