So i'm listening to Jamie Lidells' "compass" which is the song that plays when you have your last mission with edgar ross and you're riding back.
Listening to the song again, I'm almost wheling up because of the scene in RDR.

So which scenes in a videogame have been made much better because of the music playing?

Jeff says Force Unleashed and West Side Connection.

I say Chrono Trigger and Battle of Los Angeles.

Well, I can't really say I've been blown away by a scene sorely because of the music. It's the combination of both sound and visuals -- as with the scene from RDR you're talking about. I got to say though, the scene when you first enter Mexico did a much bigger impression on me than the one with the compass song.

But if I were to mention other games where the music has really set the mood, I got to say the guitar playing from any of the STALKER games. Perhaps Shadow of Chernobyl in particular. Also, the MGS games deliver quite an impressive soundtrack which definitely made that game even better than it already is without the music.
