GTA 5 confirmed release date!

Never even heard of this site before so I have to take this "confirmation" with a grain of salt. Still, holiday wouldn't surprise me. Hope it turns out to be true.

Perhaps because your source is even less credible than a Swedish retailer randomly slapping a date on the game on their website?

GTA games have always come out in October so it's not a huge stretch to think that their newest title would come out this October as well - seeing as next year seems a bit late for such a large franchise to be making a debut when new consoles are right around the corner.

Rockstar are all about releasing informantion themselves. If there was an announcement it would be on their website, not on some random blog that no one has ever heard of.

WTF? GTA4 came out in April or something. Pretty sure every Rockstar game since then has come out in spring at that.

@MideonNViscera: Well my bad, every GTA came UP TO GTA4 had come out around October. GTA3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas all had october release dates and for some reason I remembered GTA4 coming out around my birthday which is in October but I guess I must have mistaken it for some other game.

Rockstar always has a tendency to release their games in the Spring season; April-May. GTA 4, Red Dead, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3.

Don't see why GTA 5 would be any different.

If Rockstar's PR don't use the incredibly apt "Steal Box" as a descriptor for the container of their Collector's Edition, then there is no justice in the world.

But yeah, either this is the scoop of the decade or (as the more obvious "if it walks like a duck..." option) it's just purely page-view-generating idle speculation.

Also, apparently there's a Take 2 conference going on today in which we may hear some more info, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

i think it'd be cool if rockstar was like "sup, its out in like 2 weeks, GET PUMPED" just out of no where, i dont think they'd do that, cus well im no business expert, but i'd imagine that'd be a bad business move. still, it'd be awesome.

If this was real they would be opening up the gates on pre-orders. Not saying you can't pre-order already (I'm sure gamestop will gladly take your money) but they would want to bump those numbers up by advertising it a lot more.
