I always have 1 or 2 games in my backlog so that never stops me from buying more but now looking at this stack I have to beat all of these before I spend anymore money on games. Has this ever happen to you? Has your backlog of games gotten so big you have to step back and say no more buying until this pile is no more?

Plus I already paid for Killzone 3 in full... ughhhhh

Nope.

I might buy less new retail games. I might be a little more critical and only get the really awesome ones. But usually my backlog just grows and occasionally I'll stab at it. Still, a few just sit there and I keep because I want to play them.

Never! So many games I need to play through but it's good knowing they'll always be there for me.

Sometimes, I keep meaning to get Black Ops but in the back of my head I'm thinking that I have COD 4 and Modern Warfare 2 do I really need to spend 60 dollars on another modern COD game.

Not at all. I have a few dozen games in my backlog. Most of them are last gen and will probaly never be finished. So I don't sweat it.

At the moment, yeah. Just cause i don't have a lot of money, so i try and focus on the handful of games that i haven't beaten yet. While normally if i had the cash, i would probably go out and buy the newest and shiniest game.

No. It took me like 6 months to beat Bayonetta.

I bought about 4-5 games in that time and beat all of them.

Hell no. The only reason I didn't buy Dragon Quest VI today is because Giant Bomb is full of dirty, dirty liars (it comes out tomorrow). As for your predicament...

My backlog should have stopped me from buying new games. I bought Alpha Protocol and Dragon Age Awakenings a few weeks back. I haven't even dented them and I have Bayonetta on its way in the mail and MvC3 tomorrow. Not to mention the amount of RPGs I still have to play... oh man... I should stop buying games.

Edit: Oh god! The steam sales. That's another 15+ games that I forgot I had.

It didn't used to, but it's a different story now that I have 50 games on my steam account that I haven't even touched. I won't be looking at new games for a while, which sucks because there are some games out there that I really want to play, and a bunch of games on my steam list that I really regret buying.

Edit: I can't even name most of them.

not really. usually when it's no new  release games month, I tend to head back to the games of unbeaten.  So far I had 10 but cut it down to 5 and hopefully keep it that way for a while.

Yes. Lately I've been buying lots and lots of bargain games so I constantly have like 5 still in plastic and 10 or so waiting on Steam. I want to get Dead Space 2, but won't until I finish some of these. It's good though, because when I have time to play new games again they're cheaper and this way I get like 3-4 games for the price of one.

Nope, I'm still bleeding cash from my wallet on a pretty regular basis thanks to video games. Steam does not help.
