I noticed that the Sam & Max series is on sale today on Steam for quite a discount and I wanted to ask the GB community what their opinion is on this series.

Link to the sale (active  till Thursday 4pm PST): http://store.steampowered.com/sale/samandmax

Edit: thank you  LordXavierBritish for pointing out that the sale ends Thursday

They're pretty great, really the biggest complaint I can think of is that the first season is a bit limited when it comes to locales.

They're fantastic and really put TellTale on the map. The developers that make up TellTale originally worked on the LucasArts Sam and Max sequel that was canceled years ago. The three seasons also show how far they went when they first started with their episodic format.
You can't go wrong if you are looking for a solid adventure game series. Just keep in mind a few early episodes in season one, pale in comparison to what happens in later seasons. There are a few slow portions you might have to dig-through.

They are amazing. However, I recommend getting them from The Telltale site as you get digital copies and hard copies.

There used to be a free episode, try that (Abe Lincoln Must Die, if my memory serves me correctly). Personally, I think the series is great.

@NekuSakuraba: I really have no need for physical copies, but thanks for the tip.

Devil's Playhouse alone is worth more than $17 dollars.

Do it, do it right now.

Also the offer doesn't end until Thursday.

They are great games. The first season while still good, is probably my least favorite of the three. But that they took all the feedback from Season 1 and really nailed season 2 and 3. Also find Sam & Max Hit the Road, still the best of the games.

They're wickedly funny, and a nice tribute to old LucastArts games. The seasons get more ambitious as they go along, with the first season being the most bare-bones (still really good) with some shoe-horned mini-games that you don't have to play if you don't want to.

They're all great, especially the 3rd season. For that price, you should definitely pick them all up.

I've only played most of the first season but I found them to be enjoyable, especially the second episode that takes place at a TV studio.
