Personally I finished 2:
- Binding of Isaac
- Last Window: Secret of Cape West
and what about you?
This year I've only played through Tomb Raider. I'm playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six again as it is one of my favorite games and there's nothing like it. I guess i'll finish that in a few days.
I have finished Tomb Raider, Revengeance, Dead Space 3, Devil May Cry... does playing through Virtua Fighter 2 count?
Oh, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Harmonious Dissonance of the Blood Moon Order Mirror of Fate.
Trying to remember if I finished Mass Effect 1 or 2 at the very end of last year or beginning of this year. Definitely finished ME3 this year. Also finished Anarchy Reigns. Working on Dust: An Elysian Tail right now, that won't take too much longer.
Edit: Forgot about DmC, finished it as well and really enjoyed it.
@savepoint: If you're on the PC remember to download the High Res textures pack. It is marked as DLC (Free) on Steam.
I keep a list of games I've finished, here on GB (where someone actually voted down my list, which I guess means he didn't like that I haven't finished enough games or something?!).
I think the only games I've finished this year, despite initial intentions to do far more, are Thirty Flights of Loving, Little Inferno, Trauma, and Dinner Date. In other words, mostly artsy-fartsy shit and nothing of any real length or difficulty. Of course, most of what I've played this year has been multiplayer stuff, anyway. I've gotten into Natural Selection 2 and DOTA 2, for one thing. Oh, I got to the last level of Orcs Must Die!, but haven't been able to beat it, yet. So that's close.
Going to try and clear my last gen+Vita backlog before the new systems drop. Unfortunately there are a few mega-time sinks in there so it's looking a little doubtful.
Two... I think.
The OP is strangely worded, so I'm assuming it's asking 'thus far'?
They're MGR:R and DmC, anyhoo. The only other game that's likely to get a look in for a good, long while is Bioshock Infinite (and then GTAV further down the line).
I have such an enormous back catalogue on Steam that the idea of buying any more games is borderline offensive, and I barely have time to play anything these days.
Personally I finished 2:
How do you "finish" BoI?
I have trouble remembering which games I finished recently, I've started way too many of them. I've beaten Tomb Raider and MGR:R, nearly maxed-out a character in Hard Corps: Uprising, I've played through Torchlight 2 and started NG+, finished DmC on one difficulty, I'm close to S-Ranking Runner2, I finished Anarchy Reigns on normal... I don't know, I have a couple of dozen games in various stages of completion and a handful of multiplayer games that I'm still dumping hours into.
I played through a lot of games that I didn't finish this year for some reason.
I'm planning to finish up a bunch of releases from last year on the PC that I got 3/4ths of the way in and then never finished like XCOM, Borderlands 2, and Sleepy Dawgs.
Not many, actually... Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Rising, Shadow of the Colossus, I'll probably finish Starcraft tonight, then pick up Luigi's Mansion 2 next week, Bioshock at the end of the month (I don't think either of those games are going to be particularly long). I'm also working through Devil Survivor Overclocked (which I love, actually).
@funkydupe: I was thinking about installing the High Res Texture pack but I thought my machine would take too much of a hit. I have everything on normal settings right now and getting about 30 - 40 fps while driving fast (60 indoors). I'll try it out soon anyway. Either way, the game still looks pretty nice.
Been a productive gaming year so far! I'm currently playing through Saints Row 3 on PC (finished it on 360 last year).
Zero Escape, Pushmo, and Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Currently working on Etrian Odyssey 4.
Buying a 3DS for Christmas was a great idea.
Only 3 so far sadly. Not much money so I'm trying to get through my backlog.
Sonic Colors
Sonic Generations
Tales of Vesperia
and Max Payne 3 if you count replays.
This year I decided to do the same as @branthogand keep a list... Here it is.
So far I've beaten 13 games
Games beaten in 2013
1. Anarchy Reigns Completed on January 11, 2013 Really fun game especially for the value. Beat it on normal, will probably go back to it while I'm playing multiplayer and try hard difficulty maybe go for all plats. PLATINUM GET!
2. DmC Devil May Cry Completed on January 19th, 2013 FUCKING DMC! Awesome game, awesome characters, superb combat. Will play again. Completed on Nephilim
3. Lollipop Chainsaw Completed on January 27th, 2013 Super bizarre game. Its fun, and the dialog is fairly entertaining. One thing is for sure though, this game has no shame.
4. Antichamber Completed on January 31th, 2013 Amazing puzzle game. Really cool and offers quite a bit to the genre. I... think I beat it? I'm not 100% sure.
5. Bayonetta Completed on February 6th, 2013 Shame on me for not playing this sooner. SHAMEONME. Awesome, brilliant, sexy game.
6. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Completed on February 26th, 2013 Awesome game with great combat flow. So parts like enemy targeting could be a lil finicky and less than ideal, but over a pretty fantastic experience. Platinum can do no wrong in my book. |
Lots of Platinum in my diet. Working on Etrian Odyssey 4 atm.
Anarchy Reigns, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Asura's Wrath, Atelier Totori, Resident Evil Revelations, Zelda OoT 3D, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds.
That's more than I had thought when I entered this thread.
Ni No Kuni
Tomb Raider
Metal Gear Solid Revengeance
Dragon Quest ix
Pokemon Diamond
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
Dead or Alive 5
KIng of Fighters xiii
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Persona 3
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2
I dusted off the DS and went on a metroidvania binge:
Oh, and I finally got around to polishing off the Sly Collection, so Sly 1, 2 and 3. Bought the new one, but now I'm burnt out on Sly...
Well about BoI I finished it in a personal sense, as I've reached the end of both the Heaven and Sheol with Cain.
16 so far, and I am doing a monthly blog about it. In the past I would never finish games, so I made it my resolution this year to start finishing. Giving myself a monthly deadline has certainly helped keep me motivated, and I have actually found great emotional satisfaction from uninstalling a game because I finished it, and not shamefully to make room for something new.
The only new games I've played this year are Aliens and DmC, both of which I finished. DmC I have finished 4 times, with a pending fifth playthrough on Hell and Hell difficulty. I still have the Witcher 2 to finish after getting to the last chapter, but I haven't touched it in awhile and the longer I wait, the harder it will be to go back. I'm also slowly working my way through El Shaddai, because that game is really goddamn weird and kind of awful in spots. I can't play that for more than like 45 minutes at a time.
Far Cry 3, a few games of Crusader Kings II, and that's pretty much it. I don't "beat" a lot of games at the moment, because I've tended recently to play a lot of games that aren't narrative focused and you don't "finish". I've been meaning to get back into story focused games, and have fired up several games recently to see which, if any, catch my fancy. I tried RAGE, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Mark of the Ninja, but none of them really grabbed me.
Also, I played Fallout: New Vegas for 60 hours last month, but I didn't beat the game. I ran into a pretty major bug and there was a twist in the narrative that seriously pissed me off, so I stopped playing it. So I guess you could say that I didn't beat F:NV, but it did beat me. Shame, I had a lot of fun with that game.
