Hey I just wanted to get an answer on how spoiler free should both story game and character pages be? Should their be a special division or none at all like in wikipedia? Just asking because I have been rather doubtful on what information should I add in character pages and such.
How spoiler free should character pages be?
I personally think gamers have gotten way too sensitive about the whole "spoiler" issue, but I think spoilers are ok on a specific character page. If someone is going to check out the Solid Snake page (etc) then I would assume they already have a good amount of knowledge about the character. If not...then why are they there?
...but that is just my opinion.

Or perhaps a spoiler drop down bar could be added.

I believe no page should be spoiler free just for the sake of those who don't want to be "spoiled". It is for information that we come here. Just look at Wikipedia, the plot part of the pages usually has the FULL plot, if you don't want to be "spoiled"(informed) then just DON'T READ IT.
I think Character pages and Video game pages are a different matter, i suppose reading any of them, or attempting to read them is like skipping to the last page of a book, Video game pages should have plot spoiler tags though as it could easily just be a person reading about the genre or type of game because they are interested, having major spoilers on the first paragraph is a little crazy and may spoil the experience for many people, character pages I'm not so sure about.
Hard to say.
I think if you want to put some spoilers, put them at the bottom of the page. You could even make a little table of contents so people can enter the page knowing there are spoilers. Or have the header say, "Spoilers at the bottom.
I think the game and character pages could use spoiler tags. I recently went to the Portal page (just to see what was there), since I purchased and beat the game over the weekend. If I'd have gone to that page first, I'd have read several spoilers. I'd have known *spoiler* and *spoiler* resulting in a story that wasn't nearly as engaging and potentially ruining some of the humor.
While there are many games and characters where spoilers won't matter. I mean, knowing Mario has to save the princess again and the plot device driving the game doesn't really spoil anything. But, there are quite a few games where a spoiler would really suck.
