Today I took these things into CEX, and decided to trade them in. Here's the breakdown for those interested:
Left 4 Dead-£7
Assassins Creed 2-£11
Batman-£11
Final Fantasy 13-£21
Call of Duty 4 (PC)- £11 (Awesome)
Bioshock 2- £14
Mass Effect 2- £16

This left me at a staggering £91, for trading in a bunch of things that wouldn't ever get played again.

What did I pick up for this? See below!

No Caption Provided

Ghost in the Shell 2.0 Blu Ray- £10
Killzone 2 -£8
Uncharted- £15
Valkyria Chronicles-£15  (Couldnt find this in the store, had to drop £15 real money, no big, limited release in the UK)
Infamous- £15
Metal Gear Solid 4- £15
Darlsiders- £18

This, excluding VC, came to a lovely £81. I traded in 7 things, and came home with 7 things, AND a £10 credit slip to spend on SSF4 next week.

This was a tremendous day, hello videogames!

I used to trade in my games but after a while I started really missing some of them and actually spending more money so I could buy them back. For the amount of money I would get for most of them I would rather just keep them.

I'm noticing a shift from PS3 to 360. Any reason behind that, did you just get a new PS3 or something?

I managed to  get an 80gb fat for a paltry £180, which is lovely. I finished all the 360 games, and I wanted all that stuff for the PS3, so I thought "Why not?"

I know what you mean about the trade in prices, however. Saying that, bearing in mind I finished all of those games, and I just don't have the time to replay games in this current hayday of "All games all the time", so I figured once again "Why not? They're only taking up precious shelf space"

I'm super excited, but choice paralysis is already striking

I can't stand trading in my games.  I love having them there, on my shelf, as some sort of badge for having bought and/or played them.  I also detest supporting the used games industry.  I'll be damned if I'm gonna trade in my copy of say Splinter Cell: Conviction for $20 so some kid can spend $55 on it to save a measly five bucks while not supporting the developers.

That said, I need to get that Ghost in the Shell blu-ray.

Good purchase. Plus you managed to procure a copy of VC too, which is excellent. There's a whole bunch of other great games for the PS3 as well but these should last you long enough.

Awesome stuff dude! Valkyria Chronicles is awesome, and definitely worth £15. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a must have i firmly believe.

Never heard of inFamous yet though.

I saw a brand new copy for £25, and I got it pre-owned at £10. Bizarre

@eroticfishcake: I didn't yet! :o

I go to my sister's apartment in town a lot, and it's basically my second home! The PS3 is there, so my sister's boyfriend and me play through tons of  the games that he has!

Planning on getting one in a few months, after that damned Leaving Cert Maths exam that i gotta pass this year! ^_^

The one in the Arndale in Manchester. Then we had a pop up to the one near Picadilly station. Good times!

Came close to missing it, but my shopping partner spotted it. And GITS 2.0.

Good times x2!

@CornontheCobbe:  Oh yeah I forgot about that. I assume you're still working so I'm sure you'll get one in due time. If you're going to look for a copy of Valkyria Chronicles though it'll be a bit tricky since it's almost impossible to find a copy in Dublin since Atlus produced fairly limited copies of it. On the other hand, I do have a spare copy of VC so I'll hand you that next time I see you.

I felt this way too but then i started thinking, "Wow, why do I care about 'insert game here' I didn't even play through it or enjoy what I did play?" So I started dumping stuff on Ebay. I also think I have more of an attachment to carts than I do discs; I assume because I grew up using carts. I still own all of my Atari through N64 games.

I bought Enter The Matrix twice for my Gamecube, and Super Mario Sunshine. To this day I still regret selling Metal Gear Solid.

@eroticfishcake: Ah, Bob (My sister's boyfriend) already has it actually ^_^  I've played through a bit of it one day. Fairly awesome game. He happened to find it on Amazon i believe, as he likes games like that.
