Hey fellow duders! After listening to this year's Game of the Year discussions I decided to make an infographic of all the winners since 2008. See below:
I Made a GB GOTY Infographic
@wightnnerdy: Hey this is awesome, thanks!
These are great. I assume the platforms are as of the date of the awards? Just a small note that I believe Ori and the Will of the Wisps was on Switch at the time.
@wightnnerdy: This is really great. I added it to the community promo section on the front page.
@bigsocrates: Yep, you're right—I used the platforms based on the date of the awards. I will need to fix Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Thanks for the heads up!
Thank you for the kind words everyone! I'm glad you all like it!
@wightnnerdy: Very cool design! While you're fixing things :)
@hargrimm: Ah, right. Didn't realize it was spelled the other way. I'm Canadian so I totally missed that. Will add that to my list of things to fix! Cheers.
@totalpatoot: Agreed! That's one of the reasons why I wanted to make it!
Thanks again everyone! I had a really fun time making it.
This is awesome!
Since you're taking feedback
- Early Access/Preview was not eligible at the time, so PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds shouldn't list the XOne platform for 2017.
- Outer Wilds was also released on PS4 in 2019.
That's awesome! Any interest in doing something similar with this data I used from their individual top 10 lists?
@kamasamak: Noted! I will add these to my list of changes.
@timeshero: Interesting... I may look into that. That could be fun!
Thanks again everyone!
Fantastic work!
This was an interesting way visually to see the difference in games, and types of games in the last decade.
2008-2013 was just nonstop magnificent games.
I'm not sure if its just me getting older or what but this last generation has been super disappointing. Not to say it hasnt had its amazing releases (Hello God of War) but I cant really think of more then a handful of games I'll be eagerly looking back on with the same enthusiasm and excitement as I do GTAIV, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed II/Brotherhood, Deadspace, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Sleeping Dogs, Portal 2, Arkham... man its just nonstop hits.
