I need Help reguarding Online Passes

Hey guys/girls, my mum bought me a game from the US for PlayStation 3 (Mass Effect 3) to be exact, anyway, she came back to the UK, so i opened the game up, and tried to online pass, it said that it is invalid, Why does the online pass not work in the UK if it's from the US? can i do anything? please reply :(

Did she buy it new? If the game works then IDL, why the online pass wouldn't.

I literally just opened the box, so yes its new, is there any relations to my account being UK and the game being from the US?

Probably due to region. I know PS3 games are not region locked but DLC is so it might be due to that. Either then that the only real advice I can give you is to try your luck on the EA forums or try contacting them directly.

You can create an US account on the PS3, but note that this is a violation of Sony's EULA. Then redeem the US code on your US profile. Afterwards switch back to your main account and play the game and "enjoy" the online pass features...

@monster1408: Probably. It's more of a question to ask Playstation Support, whoever that may be. Do they have a twitter or anything like XboxSupport?

Those codes are very rarely region-free. Nothing you can do but buy a UK one separately. Unlucky.

@HarlechQuinn: Do i have to Re Download it on my UK? or will it be on the account immediately?

If the game works then maybe the download for the online pass is region locked to US sites. I'd contact EA about this if I were you.

@monster1408: By having the account you downloaded the pass on your PS3, it will work. Just don't get rid of that account.

@monster1408: Not sure what you mean with redownload, as the key was not working on your UK account the online pass shouldn't be downloaded at all. The online pass will be downloaded via the US account and as long this account stays on your console you can use the features within all other accounts on this PS3, at least according to my "friends" which use different region accounts on their PS3...
