I would drop Boarderlands personally. It seems awesome don't get me wrong but the other two (especially Forza 3) are much higher on my most wanted list.
Brutal Legend not even a question the other two are craaap not if you were chooseing between Brutal Legend and way of the samurai 3 that would be a tough choice
From my point of view, Forza 3 looks fucking awesome, it's a game I could definitly wait for. Brutal Legend seems awesomely funny, but the multiplayer looks lame. Borderlands looks to be this year's Fallout 3, but it seems to have the same fucked up fps game mechanics as Fallout. I'm still stuck. And I didn't make a poll because I thought people were able to write down a sentence. Shame on me.
I would personally get Brutal Legend and Borderlands since I'm not a big racing fan. Though if I take this from the point of how much playtime are you going to get from these games for your money I would get Borderlands and Forza 3. Borderlands looks like a large expansive online game and Forza 3 can just go on forever and ever with paint jobs and tuning. Brutal Legend looks really good but I can see this game getting really cheap fast much like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge did around this time last year.
Well, they're definitely in different genres. So you could just pick your preferred genre of the three. However, I'm not convinced Borderlands is going to be a top-notch FPS game so you might want to think about that. Forza 3 seems like Forza 2.5 to me, so you might want to hold off on that game for a little while as well. The wait should cause the marketplace content to fill out nicely and allow time for more quality too. I think there is more to Brütal Legend than a lot of people think there is. Gamespot has a nice video with 1 hour of [new] gameplay that you might want to check out if you have time.

From your point of view, it seems like Forza is a must, so it's really just a question between Brutal Legend and Borderlands. I personally think I'd go with Brutal Legend.
And for the second one, I'm not sure...I really like Forza, and I don't like metal that much, so I wouldn't buy Brutal Legend. But those two games are up to you.

Why do you say that everything in the game is basically new, the engine, cars, tracks, multiplayer, career mode, drag/drift races. Its not like they pushed the game out recycling all the same assets, everything in this game is new.
Toysrus is having a buy 2 get 1 free deal this week, see if you can get all three. They may not allow it for all preorders, but it worked for Brutal Legend.
Forza will likely have the most playtime. There is a LOT of content in there and some really fantastic community tools and systems set up. You should check out the quick look video, if you haven't already.
Borderlands might be good, but the gameplay seems very simplistic. If you like loot hunting games it should last you a long time, but there's very little depth beyond killing things to level up, and finding better equipment to kill bigger things, etc.. I've not been following Brutal Legends much, it looks fun but I don't see it being particularly long or worth playing through multiple times.

I don't care about assets; it shares a lot from Forza 2. That's not a bad thing. Since he hasn't played Forza 2, it's now my top recommendation for him.
If you are a metal head, and really like that type of music, go with Brutal Legend, no question. Although, even if you aren't, it should still be a fun experience. However, I would say that on the off-chance you don't like metal or rock, then Borderlands is a great choice.
Man, definitely get Borderlands. Think of all the sweet loot you'll be getting, if you don't like your character there are 4 characters with 3 skill trees, so that's like 12 different ways to play the game. 160 quests! RPG-shooter! Group up with friends and take down baddies! Get it and we can play together! I just pre-ordered mine today. Sweeeeeet visuals! Vehicular combat! It's like Diablo 2 mixed with Fallout 3 and Halo!!
Personally for me, I like being the support. So I'm going to be picking Roland for his support class. If you do pick this up, I will definitely play with you :D
