Sorry, the title had to be short. I was wondering if the native resolution of a game was 720p if I had my 360 set to 1080p does that mean it really doesn't look any better.
Is it pointless to have my 360 set to 1080p when everything is native 720p?
If the native resolution of a game is 720p does it get no better?
if your tv supports 1080p, then your 360 will upscale the output to 1080p but this is not a natural 1080p. it is just the 720p stretched out further. for most games it makes very little difference in the quality whether you upscale or not but for some games it can have a very negative impact on it.
If you seriously need to play real 1080p games, I know all pc really is native 1080p or whatever your display will support.
I know it's not your console, when I set ps3 to 1080p, it looks better imo, it could be upscaled to that resolution, it's better than setting it at 720p when you have a 1080p display imo.
Edit: oh wait, not every game can be set to 1080p on the ps3, I need more testing, however resident evil 5 doesn't work with that setting.
