Already not impressed, maybe other people will have some thoughts on it. http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/05/ign-au-pubcast-plays-deadly-premonition
Ign is starting to Quick look Deadly Premonition

Why bother with a game they gave a 2.0 rating on? That's like Alex replaying Big Rigs:OTRR
To be fair, that's the main website. The UK branch gave it a 7.5, but there's no listing for an AU score.
I don't want to be flippant here but what do I care if another website does something vaguely similar to anything Giant Bomb's done? I guess it depends on the website but IGN is the ultimate "just another big gaming website" so I'll pass.
Now if Polygon were to entertain the idea I might listen but otherwise I could do without.
I'm reluctant to click on that because I feel like they won't get it. That game was awesome and doesn't deserve to be dragged through the mud again.
Edit: I clicked on the link :( Sounds like at least some of them have already played it and didn't understand it or give it any thought, now they're just back to slam it as predicted. I don't expect them to be respectful but I'd hoped for a little bit of intelligence, like recognising the Biblical reference at the start (with the snake and the tree) and not just giggling over the phallic nature of it, or giving two shits about why any of the shots are set up in the way they are.
I am hugely biased because I think this game is masterful in the way it makes the player a meaningful character in the story in a way that no third person game ever has, and the way it communicates heavily through symbolism and metaphor. It demands a player who can see past the low production values and take an interest in what it's trying to say, and fucking Team IGN are not those players.
I went in with an open mind, since I do think the some of the US cast can be quite funny. However, this is just four Australians trying too hard to talk shit about the game.
Oh IGN, you're so silly, they are better off staying in their comfort zone making articles that would make a 13 year old blush and inane top 10 lists.
Who would watch that when you could just watch the VJ run?
I watched the VJ playthrough a few months back. The game is fucking awesome... to watch, at least. It's like Twin Peaks, but with an ending. Not a lot of games let you escape to a crazy logging town for a few days like that.
Oh I love Australians........ This isnt that bad. I dont get why people are getting offended by this.
I will never understand the hostility towards other sites. Yeah, they may have some shitty content but all you need to do is not go to the site. The constant shitting on other sites has gotten old.
I was laughing when they first started... Only because I was thinking of Jeff saying "Yep that texture over there is terrible"

Come on. It's still fun shitting on other sites. We used to do it to Anime Vice all the time.

Are the IGN cast got the worst hair????
Damnit! I was gonna do that! Ah well, good one. I happen to think that's still utterly hilarious.
And yes, the IGN cast got the worst hair.

At this point it was a necessary but low hanging fruit so I avoided it.
I think it's kind of awesome that other websites are realizing how well Giant Bomb presents its content (mainly with video commentary) and are attempting to duplicate it.
I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing.

I'm suddenly reminded of that South Park episode where Butters wrote a novel and everyone flipped out over the symbolism and intricate meanings of specific words, which all blended together to create this message that only those who read between the lines could see.
That being said, I can tell you're biased, but whoa, buddy. You're giving it too much credit.
