glad to see (or uhh... should I be glad?) to see someone else in my position.
It feels like deja-vu. This was exactly how it was with the xbox last gen (had a ps2 but wanted the xbox for halo). At the end I actually liked my xbox a tad mroe than my ps2. It was a Halobox last gen. I did find some good other games like KOTOR and Conker, but will there truly be those this gen?
I'd recommend getting one - they do have some seriously good games, and are constantly underrated - just get ready for the whole rolling over the eyes when you tell people you have one :(

it's not a money issue, I've got college covered (still in high school), have no expenses, and work at gamestop a bit and more so in the summer, it's just a matter of whether or not there is actually enough value in the machine

Well if you have a Good LCD tv then its really really worth it! You know what, just borrow some money go to wal mart get the machine and if you dont like it return it within 30 days and get your money back. Cant go wrong with that!

Perhaps Ill get it and give it as a father's day gift? He doesn't really care (he plays madden and guitar hero but thats it - he can do it on the 360) but it'd essentially save me a little bit of money. Hmm....
* for those of you thinking about working at gamestop who are big gamers: it's impossible not to buy more games. You will if you work there. I doubt I'll make it through the summer without doing it. Come on price drop!

Are you serious!? high definition tvs makes games look much much mucccccccccccccch better than sdtv. Anybody who says otherwise is either poor or stupid.

Yea, but the 360 is HD too, so Im not getting your point. I have a 65" 1080p tv (techinically my parents).

Alright then, think no more.. get the money and buy the machine as i say before if you dont like it you can get full refound @ wal mart, is your choise man, i know you wont regret it!

how is the mgs4 bundle a good deal exactly? a 80GB ps3 and MGS4 for $500? I dont see how that adds up. Wouldn't $460 be the price if you bought them seperately? So um... yea

Its the only one left that has backawards compatabily, 4 usb ports, and memory stick ports. the regular 80 gb has only 2 usb ports no bc and no ms ports
I'd recomend it if you liked titles like uncharted and such but you say your not interested. In that case maybe buying one just for LBP wont completely justify your purchase but LBP is looking very good. Even if you don't want to create stuff you can always just download all the cool stuff that people will be making. There are alot of creative people out there who just eat stuff like LBP up. Also maybe get the new Ratchet and Clank? That game wasn't half bad.
