It seems like everyone is getting 6x the amount that is pending in their rewards I had 220 pending and so I received 1320 points. Captain obvious to the rescue!!
I dunno, I got 7x. Seen people who only got 5x too.
@zafir: hmm, maybe I'll end up with more when I check again once I get home from work. All I know is I called Xbox support once and after 20 minutes on hold they couldn't figure it out and said they're now considered mine but I don't know what to do if it keeps crediting them. I think its stopped though for me because it hasn't updated for a few hours now.
@DillonWerner: When I created my Xbox Live account, I wanted to give me real birthdate just in case it appeared on my profile. I use 1990 for basically everything else.
Someone should tell Patrick to put his reporting hat on, there's a story here. I didn't know the rewards programme was available outside the US but I've signed up for it now.
Sweet, I got like 1700 points. I was gonna buy ITSP and Fruit Ninja Kinect tonight anyways, so this is a very nice surprise. I completely forgot that I signed up for that rewards program.
I have like 20 points pending, but I think I can qualify for the August 1600 points on add-ons Rewards, but I don't how to activate it to get points pending.
I have a dilema. Spend the points on stuff that I don't want that much, or wait, hope they dont take the points away and buy what I actually want which is one of the resident evil HD remakes being released next month.

I remember activating the moment I got the E-mail and I got a total of 20 points for one survey I did in January. It didn't count any of the purchases I was making...
I got points, as well. 1550 to be exact. I had 330 pending points, and they deposited 310 points 5 times today. Really curious about what caused this exactly, and if they are gonna try and do anything about it.

It is a gamble. Like, do I leave my safe, loyal and dependable, but homely, girlfriend for the hot, flighty wild chick in accounts that might end up cleaning out my bank account and running back to her ex?.
Just letting you guys know, MS did a very stop-gap fix for it - they removed, on their end, all of the duplicate points from the affected accounts. those of you that are looking at your MSP history over at the billing info will see this.
Taking my example, I had 0 MSP going into August (I know, exactly 0!), and ended up with 960 points earlier today due to this glitch (four deposits of 240). I held off because I figured this was erroneous (besides, best not give MS a reason to ban the account). I check it a few minutes ago and I see it now reports my starting balance for August as -720.
I have no idea what (if anything) they're going to do to those that took advantage of the glitch.
My friend got like 1500 points or something, bought From Dust for 1200, and had some leftover. They took the leftover points that were duplicated, so his end balance was what it was before this mess happened.
I spent all the points and some of the points i had before today and my total hasn't changed. Basically I started with 400, got 1320 points, and then spent 1360 on a Games on Demand title. So my end balance as of this instant is 360msp. The game still shows up in my purchase history, and my billing history shows no points being removed (other than from purchasing the game).
XBoxSupport on twitter isn't very informative to the situation. Every question regarding this mess has been answered with "we have no information about that." I too am eager to know if I get to keep what I got like last year's Fable 2 screw up, or if I am to be retroactively charged for this.
lol yeah Microsoft totally took the 1500 points I had left away...good thing I bought Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet when I did...I was saving the rest of the points for Toy Soldiers 3 but oh well...I can't really complain about them taking away free points that I didn't exactly earn :p .....still should have bought something else lol.
I think they made the announcement yesterday that they just added Mexico. This is probably where the issue came into play. My account has been adjusted to reflect this error. They did this by setting my beginning month balance to a negative number. How fun.
