There were a lot really good games this year. Going down the list of games I've played this year, not a stinker in the lot. It's super easy to pick 10 great games this year. Pretty much any 10 games this year are great, but I suppose if I'd have to put them in a hard number slot it would be hard. Anyways here are my 10 favorite games of this year.
I'm not sure it's easy or hard to pick GOTY this year.
Good list, good choices. I'm still bummed out I didn't get to play Dark Souls this year. Glad you liked AC: Revelations more than I did. I mean, I thought it was still fun, but a lot of things in that game feel forced and feel like a step back to the formula. It's probably my most disappointing game this year; I really hope ACIII will be loads better than this, but it's easy to cast some doubts on how they'll go about it.
Sadly, I've been taking it easy on gaming this year, so I missed out on Assassin's Creed, Mortal Kombat, Dead Space 2, Uncharted 3, El Shaddai, etc. :( However, even with the few choices in mind (Skyrim, Arkham City, Portal 2, LittleBigPlanet 2), I'm still having a hard time picking my favorite.
Either Portal 2, AC, or Dead Space 2. I hope one of those will win. Skyrim had great gameplay but with a load of bugs.

Mortal Kombat best fighting game ever.
I don't know what you're smoking but I want some.
This year was probably the best year for huge games being released throughout the year. I don't think a month went by without a gem being released. Looking at your list there are games released early in the year, spring, summer and holiday. I hope this trend continues and is successful for developers because I always hate it when a million games come out in November.
Yeah it was like having a game of the year every month. This year was probably the best year for huge games being released throughout the year.
