The video for the new Iron Maiden song "Speed of Light" went up early this morning and it's kind of cool. It has their mascot running through a series of games that are riffs on specific games/genres. The animation company did a really slick job with each "game" and the 90's VR-esque interludes are pretty rad too. Have a look...

Wow, that was actually really cool. I'm a big fan or Iron Maiden's classic stuff but never really gave the newer stuff much attention.

@kanerobot: Actually yes I do. Though I never have actually played the game, mostly just listened to the CD's.

@justicejanitor: Some of their post-reunion work is really strong. Some modern classics are:

  1. The WIcker Man
  2. Rainmaker
  3. Dance of Death (song)
  4. The Talisman
  5. Starblind
  6. Where the Wild Wind Blows
  7. Brave New World (song)
  8. Paschendale
  9. The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
  10. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns

They're more of a hard rock band these days with a 70's progressive vibe. Many long epics, with slow intros. I'm a huge fan, and like there new stuff more than their classics. It's at least worth looking into.

I remember why I stopped listening to Iron Maiden. That song was terrible.

So excited for new maiden album. They are still fucking great almost 40 years running.

And there classics are classic of course but I personally prefer there modern work they have done over the past 15 years, so damn good material in there.

Wow, been a while since I've listened to any Iron Maiden, but they still seem pretty good. Guess I'll need to reacquaint myself with them a bit.

Anyway the video is well done, a lot better then I'd have thought.

The song was a little boring but I still have a ton of respect for Maiden. And the video was a lot of fun to go with it, too

Iron maiden shall live on forever, Bruce is immortal. This track is a bit crap compared to their previous modern stuff, but whatever it's maiden, I'm going to get it regardless.

I might not be heavily into Iron Maiden any more, but that video was sublime! Great work by the animators.

While I wasn't digging the song to much, still thought the video was cool. Love Maiden btw.

Love the riff as well, getting 1986 Somewhere in Time era vibes from it, hope the whole album carries that aesthetic.
